There's one thing that could change the whole equation...

DOES HE HAVE A BIG DICK?
ambs
I think that if you are straight with him (as in, telling him DIRECTLY that you're only interested in a friendship) that there is no problem in being friends with him. but you must make sure not to send mixed signals so no flirting whatsoever etc. I've been friends with guys before who've liked me without a problem. Except many guys start acting like 4 year old when they realize nothing is going to happen. But if he's really a nice, cool guy like you say, then you probably don't need to worry about that :) good luck with it, let me know how it goes ;)

I mean if you genuinely have a good time with that person (when you go out to a club as a group), but you've dropped major hints that it's just friendly, yet they still keep trying to sucker you in for dates, should you just cut them off?

You should aslways be direct about your feelings, that way you always have your bases covered, and the person can't throw anything in your face. Most importantly, there's no confusion as to what kind of relationship the two of you have.

If you've made your intent clear that the person has NO chance whatsoever, and have set boundaries, then I don't see any reason why you can't continue to have a friendship.

It's not your responsibility to be accomodating to this person's feelings, especially if you've told them how you feel about it and you stick to the boundaries you've set.

Why do you always have to pollute threads with ty anecdotes like this, quite clearly referencing tactics from your own pitiful life story?

I dream of a chav-free world. KilldaDJ isn't in it.

I read this entire thread waiting to see that ;)

Jamie; If you've got no interest, drop the guy. He'll never learn if you aren't just straight up with him, and quite frankly, do you really need another -hound dragging you down right now?

He's clearly very interested in you and has romantic intentions.

Is this what you crazy kids are calling 'getting your willy wet' these days then? I'll have to remember that.
