where in japan are you stationed?
I was in Iwakuni years ago, and by the train station there was a place we called the Curry Hut (or maybe house...its been a while) and they had curry rice orders numbered 1-5. 1 being the mildest, 5 the hottest. If you ordered a 5 and finished it, you got it free. Seen 3 people try and fail. It wasnt a lot of food, it was just too damn hot.
Across the street from there was a place called "Mos Burger" or something like that. They would put diced onions and chili on their burgers and they were awesome. Could get them with jalapenos also. They also had these ice cream parfaits that came with fruit, and corn flakes on top. One of the best places i ever ate at as far as fast food is concerned.
Near the gate there was a place that my friend said he read about in Playboy magazine. It was a little hole in the wall, but they were rated as having the best BLT in the world according to the article. It was called Sako (or maybe Sato, but I think Sako) and the sandwich had lots of lettuce and tomato, and the bacon was real thick. I don't know about best in the world, but it was definately the best ive ever had. |

The greatest fast food chain on the planet, bar none.

If you are ever in the Chicagoland area, stop by a Portillo's. You'll never eat a more satisfying meal again. I think they built one just outside LA too, but only 1. The rest are in northeast IL/northwest IN.
And if you want good chicken...

Harold's Chicken Shack, origin = south side of Chicago. I dont think there are any in the suburbs, but if you are ever in the windy city, do yourself a favor and stop by here. I think this chain may have even built in other cities too. the chicken is amazing. |
