There are different states of mental illness, and I wouldn't put paranoia on the same level as outright insanity. Once again, it depends on the case.

Hmm...is their such a thing as insanity? Or is it just a new term that a doctor made up? And now everyone and their sisters use it. I have done alot of research on Psychology, Before I wanted to goto med school. And the point to psychology is no point at all. If their is a point, Please tell me. People have lived fine beofre new age drugs such as Ritalin, Seroquel, Thorazine, Prozac all came out. God made you the way you are, Why play god by takeing something to alter the way you feel and\or think of things, Isnt that what makes life interesting? Is anyone not brainwashed by what schools teach you? And no kicking a dog and\or cat isnt something you should do. I was just saying that you can be from, Kicking a dog or cat, or on the level of killing people. And yes, You are right, Paranoia isnt the same as "Insanity" But what exactly is insanity? Insanity is just a term to people who want the easy way out... "You killed 5 people, How do you plead?" "Insanity." "Ok, You goto a jail\hospital for 40 years, See how your doing, ANd your free" . If I ever killed anyone, Excuse me, KILL 5 CHILDREN, I would hope to get the death penalty. But I wouldnt. Killing serves no point. Hold on a second... There are many ignorant pure-atheists and pure Christians... religion is a very complex issue. Somethings are hard to believe. But I spend time thinking about these things (all sides of the argument) and this doesn't make me ignorant. However, not everyone is like that.
You also have to realize that there is more than one type of atheism. Some aithiests are athiests because after a lot of reflection they conclude that God does not exist. This does not make them bad people. In fact, there are many "good" atheists. We call these people Anonymous Christians.
However, there are also ignorant atheists. These are the people that are too lazy to think and are caught up in the secular values of our world. These people consider themselves "pure athiests" just as much as the ones above. The only difference is that one type of athiest is ignorant and the other is not.
You cannot just assume because you take up one side of the spectrum means that you aren't ignorant.

I don't know about this either... for the majority, probably yes. But other people may not be ignorant and question their religion. This is a good thing. For example, heresies... although they are bad, they are always started with good intentions. It is natural for us to question issues of our faith.
BTW, I don't mean to be picky, but just so no one gets confused... In Christianity we believe that all humans do have souls, and right after we die our bodies as well as our soulds resurrect.
We don't believe in ghosts though :)

I went through that site, and its bull. There are no arguments as to why you shouldn't believe in God. The best is that guy's explanation as to why he became an athiest. For example, "God was the parental figure that my inner child wished for and didn't exist"... well, in Christianity, we do not believe God is a parental figure, or a teddy bear, or anything like that.
Another example, "All this time in the back of my head were things that I didn't want to think too much about because they were uncomfortable. The fact that at the time (the 70s) they were discovering many early protohuman skeletal fossils was contrary to what my church taught and bothered me a little. I felt there had to be an explanation." Who cares if the story of Adam & Eve was made up? The whole Olt Testament was probably made up, but thats not important. We believe that there are many different possible forms of creation, all aided from God. If God was not involved, how can you explain that something was created out of nothing? Something had to create matter, it didn't just appear. Something had to make humans intelligent. It also doesn't matter if God created the world slowly and "evolved" us up to our present state.
And all those bible quotes... first of all, 99% are from the Old Testament... the essence of Christianity is in the New Testament. Plus, the quotes are taken out of context... we all know that even the devil can quote scripture for his evil purposes.

Yeah, He is. Suffering brings us closer to God... it's a call to "share in the redemptive sacrifice of Christ." Those people in the hospital are going to die soon. Suffering gives them a chance to find God so that they can live in happiness forever. I'd rather be in Heaven forever then on Earth. |

that's the last resort of trying to convince another person about the absolute righteousness of christianity - saying that "ohhh... i thought you were smarter" without any convincing arguments.
when people blindly believe in "let the god guide your path in this life blablabla" - it's only because they don't have the guts to come through this life all by themselves without someone's constant guideness. this way people really become like sheep with no place for selfmade decisions in their lives, guided by an imaginary character. |
