well honey with only 266 on the board at the end of the first day on a good batting pitch they certainly did a lot of digging, maybe tomorrow they can have a go at climbing out?
gumble
ENGLAND ARE PLAYING FOR A DRAW

dirty bastards, wasting first day, and as much time as possible, so Aus have to gun to win, which gives them chance of drawing this test!!!!

considering how well you bowled today, I think 3 down at the end and a powerful last session isn't that bad of a comeback. Definately going to frustrate you even further if KP and Colly can stay in until lunch tomorrow, and see where we go from there.
Have to say I'm not too confident of bowling you out twice without panesar, but maybe good old duncan feltcher knows something we don't.

yeah last session was great for england, i thought it was interesting that stuart clark didn't bowl as much as he did. mcgrath didn't look that comfortable early on so we'll see how long he lasts! hopefully pietersen and collingwood put on a big partnership instead of going out 4 balls into the next day hehe. too bad i'll be at work all weekend

pietersen is really going to bully mcgrath this series, loved the way he was sneaking in extra runs when mcgrath was fielding :stongue:

we've got a good start, and that's what we needed. Without Trescothick or Vaughan who can score at high rates, we've had to build a solid foundation. If we can get 300-400 before Flintoff & jones come in, that's when they're at their best, rather than being 80-5 or something. It may not be great viewing to begin with, but when you're being bowled over quickly, getting into the habit of batting days is important.

Why the hell aren't they playing Monty Panesar?

It was brilliant :stongue:. I hate Mcgrath with a passion, probably cos he's a fantastic bowler :p

Agree with A.J, Panesar needed to be in the squad, Giles aint going to take many wickets is he (even though he can bat a bit) cos his bowling is so flat, atleast Monty can turn the ball, and i think when he's on song with blokes around the bat he could be a potential match winner.
But all in all, perfect day for us with the prize wicket of Langer at the end of the day.
