Same reason why any body with his views does. They want some excitement in their lives because they are bored with theirs. |

firstly, thats not an answer. secondly, this has nothing to do with "governments" and all that rubbish. it is related to your tendency to favour the fantastic over the mundane. im curious as to why youre so easily infatuated with shall we say, alternative points of view. thirdly, its the perfect thread to discuss this.
and finally, if you actually provided me with evidence even remotely credible or compelling then i might stop my so-called "ignorance". until then, fasten that tinfoil hat einstein. |

Thats not true ;-) You guys want the truth? Because I lived in a country where when it collapsed in a heap of smmoke, all the lies came out ... the entire Soviet Union was a lie on top of a lie on top of a lie. When American empire collapses, I'm pretty sure some of the truth will leak out ...
Since then I have always taken a neutral approach. I only believe in official story when there's undeniable and unbiased proof (if USA didnt invade Iraq or Afghanistan and didnt pass Patriot Act, I'd believe it was Osama Bin Laden!!!). You see?
What happend on 9/11 looked at first like a terrorist attack. But after I looked at what the greedy governments did after, it started to become very obvious the real scope of events, and the rest I found out in due time. Makes sense/? |

i hate to break it to you, but the USSR and USA are pretty different, despite what some hippies might think. also, the american empire will never collapse in the same way that the soviet union did.

lets not hijack with 9/11 stuff, but the behaviour of the government after the attacks isnt evidence of anything. do you understand "political opportunism"? come on
no, i dont believe youre a neutral observer. you clearly have a penchant for favouring the fringe over the norm. i want to know why. |

I dont want to talk about this - this is not the thread, and quite frankly, it doesnt matter. Seems like you are reall bothered and curious why oh why I dont believe your sometimes arrogant and absurd statements, as much as you'd like to describe mine.
I don't have a problem with you following the pro-government doctrine, its your ass. I got my life, I've seen things you can only imagine. Wars, poverty, hunger, lies, corruption, greed, jealousy ... I was poor myself. I learned a lot. And thanks to this knowledge I am alive today. And nothing's going to change that.
You grew up in a comfortable western society, all fed and dressed. I came from a hell-hole, where our governments did same crimes as your people.
Both Soviets and Ammericans committed plenty of crimes around the world, against their own people, and against their enemies ... its been documented. You can call your fight in the name of democracy, which is a nice excuse. I dont buy it.
End of topic. Start a new thread, I might come, probably not. I want to tallk about aliens, paranormal and similar stuff on this thread, ok? Thanks! |

| I have a question. you like to hike right? Have you ever experienced something paranormal? or since you know where UFO's have been sighted-more than once- in the past decade why don't you go and see for yourself? |

i dont have a pro-government doctrine you stupid presumptuous twit. i have an anti "i believe in magic and leprechauns and flying saucers over everything else" doctrine. big big difference.
youre not critical of the "evidence" of any of these issues, and you have a tendency to believe things that fit in with your pre-conceived notions.
ie unknown item in egyptian writing = alien technology.
renaissance art = irrefutable proof of flying saucers
fantastic engineering skill of the egyptian people = alien constructed pyramids.
you are too keen to place the incredible into perceived gaps in the narrative. |

Looks like people have been seeing similar UFOs for hundreds if not thousands of years.
pkcRAISTLIN - if UFOs are not aliens, then what are they? |

over imaginative witnesses. fakes. military aircraft. natural phenomenon.
the UFO fans were all excited about crop circles too until it became obvious they were stunts.
sorry, you're all gonna need more than your "i want to believe" analysis of art and hieroglyphics (sp?) to convince anybody of anything. |

Well military aircraft are pretty much out for Italy in the 1500s, so that leaves crazies, liars, and natural phenomena (also known as stuff that happens that modern science can't explain :stongue: ).
I don't know any natural phenomena that looks/behaves like a UFO, but I do know that UFO's fall under the "stuff that modern science can't explain," so explaining "stuff that can't be explained" by "stuff that happens in nature that can't be explained" is out too.
Leaving liars and crazies. Now, lies/pranks/jokes being put in paintings like this at a time where people were getting tortured and burned for much less (think spanish inquisition) seems pretty ridiculous. People really were seeing those things.
So it must be everyone that everyone that drew/commisioned a painting with a UFO in the background in 1500s Italy (in other words, the rich nobles and merchants, people with much to lose) was either insane or wanted problems with the Catholic Church.
Your explanations just don't seem to stand on their own, friend.
You remind me of me a few years ago when I was an atheist making fun of people who believed in God. I was such a smug bastard, and I was really hurting people when I threw science in their face and laughed at them. I realized something since then. Both people who strongly believe and people who don't believe in something like God, or aliens, or whatever, they see the same thing, but they either see it at a "glass is half-full, grass is half-empty" perspective.
So when you come in a UFO thread and start your pimply fourteen year-old stuck up "prove it" attitude, it pisses me off.
I don't need to prove jack to you. You need to prove TO ME that every single recorded instance of UFO sightings out there has nothing to do with existance of sentient life outside of Earth. You need to prove TO ME that it's impossible for intelligent life to develop ahead of the human race, and then come here for whatever purpose.

I have to agree with this, why is that the people who believe in aliens and such have to explain thmeselves or proof if they exist or not? they should come prove to us that Aliens dont exists and we are the only civilizaion in this universe.
and once again I would like to raise this quesiton, why havent we been back to the moon and is Nasa changing all the infomation ie.images thats is coming to us for space? |

Yea, actually it does.
I'm sure I wouldn't be exaggerating if I was to say that over 90% of your posts and threads ALL have the same ring to it.
It's either grandiose government conspiracies, fringe theories or just plain crazy talk.
What exactly IS your fascination with this kookie, anarchistic edge anyways?
I'm not saying it's not...uh....entertaining, but we're just curious what makes a displaced Russian cosmonaut tick.... ;) |
