Ferry was absolutely sick, better than Armin was the week before. Redemption ofr a lousy set at Borgata Sept 1. Consistent and strong the whole way through. He always drops Carte Blanche here in NYC, and I love him for it! an absolute classic favorite!

wow...i guess. i never thought to compare sets by Armin and Ferry...Ferry is my absolute FAVORITE when he comes to NYC...(but I can honestly admit this wasn't his BEST set overall) as for Armin, while he wasn't as good as he was during Tobacco Warehouse, the tracks were banging and it was FUNNN overall and he definitely MADE the most of his time at Crobar on a night that was cut somewhat shorter than usual

Hard to believe that Ferrys set at Borgata wasn't up to par though...ive never heard Ferry lousy before. Did anyone else go besides massivenyc?

now im curious.

i didnt read the thread for Ferry at Borgata cuz i went to Labour of Love that weekend.

Ferry was told by Borgata to play very commercial stuff for the hotel crowd, he wasnt trancy at all, before that set I had never heard a bad Ferry set he was always the model of consistency, unlike the other great djs who could have on and off nights depending on the crowd they play (e.g. PVD in the park which absolutely sucked!!!).

I remember seeing Ferry at Glow in DC 2 years ago, was the absolute best time of my life, they filmed clips for his CD that night. Also his set at Avalaon October 2004 is one of the best sets I have ever heard!

Always down for Ferry he is da Man!

damns ive def heard that happening before in the local scene, but never to a BIG trance dj...well he must have been inwardly PISSED. and didn't NYTAs go to this event as well?

btw -- what exactly COUNTS as commercial? :conf:

I agree!

Armin under Brooklyn Bridge was with less speakers and at Crobar their sound needs tweaking but the sound system is x10 then what was under Brooklyn Bridge. At Crobar that bee buzzing sound when Ferry started ripping it up is whats needs to be tweaked over with in the sound system. Same bee buzzing was there when Sharam was spinning and Satoshi. That's why some you had ear buzzing the next day.

One of the speakers above the bar in the back, right next to the standing area in VIP is blown. You could hear it very definitely while standing up there on Friday night.

colibri
by “ferry the dolly”... his set was almost an exact
replica to his typical and easily predictable boring
programs from 05 yeah 2005! with thexemption of
couple of isolated and energized times... hai lee did
an owesome in the 1st part of his programme with
lot’s of innovative blends creativelements and
powerful melodies

I was there that night.....Ferry always rocked it @ Glow and I agree.....he is the most consisitant trance DJ there is but his set at Crobar last week was alright compared to the many other times I've seen him. I guess I'm just spoiled from seeing Ferry at Guvernment and Glow so many times.
