Brooooooooo!!! I'm open minded and VERY highly accepting of it, (not to mention just about EVERYTHING in this world, music or not) I just don't enjoy it, so, why should I care about it THAT much?

You have to stop taking the term EDM literally my friend, that's the core of your problems. People on this board and generally in the world use edm as an overall genre to label trance/house/techno/electro/minimal/etc. NOT rap...the only person i've seen or heard so far to do thah is you. :p
Ill say it again and maybe this time it will get through:
EDM is not a genre. Trance/House/etc/ are genres. People use the term EDM as a genre to connect all of those others into one, when they do that trance/house/etc./ become sub-genres. It's easier that way when they get compared to OTHER musical genres like hip-hop, country, raggea, etc.
Hip hop by itself has nothing in common with trance/house/etc. apart from the fact that the beats are made electronically (which AGAIN can be said about a thousand other genres these days) and some historical & perceptive similarities which you continue to confuse with the actual music styles...

Oh and,
If you don't think hip-hop is dominated by words than you have no idea what hip-hop is ;)
