i dont understand the packed complaints.
Thats what clubbing is usually all about.
Lots of people, big room, sweaty, and dancing their asses off |
There is a difference between a packed club and a club with so many people you can't move a centimetre, people are falling all over themselves and the thickness of the sweat in the place makes it hard to breathe. I've complained about Guvernment being like this ONCE in all the times I've gone there and I sure as hell wasn't alone. Stop picking useless arguments. |

i dont see you complain about it much. But a lot of people do constantly. many times if they dont have flailing room they are upset. Thats all. |

I really like the Guv....
I do live in windsor though so getting to the Guv is a treat that only comes a couple of times a year which makes me enjoy it so much i think...
i could do without some of the annoying ass ppl who go though...
some ppl are so effin rude.. but you can find that ANYWHERE not just at a bar
so over all... i enjoy the Guv.. its always a good time and i looove getting to party it up with Shanny and Fraser (when he comes) every once and while because i miss and love them!

There used to be a time (ie 2000-2001) where if I missed a Saturday night at the Guvernment I'd be depressed for a week. Now I wouldn't be caught dead at that place, unless it was for a DJ I really love.
I love the locals and the place, but it's just not for me. My Guvernment memories from years past are some of my best clubbing memories of all time tho. |

if the fact that i refuse to go back there implies that i hate it, then yeah, i do.
the crowd sucks, the people are just sketchy, rude, pushy, obnoxious and gross. come to think of it, the people are the main reason i won't go. when i think of all the times i've heard a really fantastic set, none of those times have ever been at the guvernment. i don't like the "let's ram in every big name we can think of in one night" mentality...been there, done that. i want to hear longer sets not like 4 two hour ones. it's always too crowded and i just never have a good time when i go there. and why would i go somewhere when i consistently have a time? too many times i've said "oh, i'll go this night cos so and so is playing" and then have regretted it immediately. i like daskoolhaus and the lawler mornings on the skybar, but you couldn't pay me to go in the main room again (i'll possibly reconsider if danny is there, but that's pushing it).
i'm not gonna lie, i used to love it. those days are so long gone i barely remember them. |

Even though I was not around for those days..I know pple that were and they tell me how amazing it was...They make me so jealous that any time they start to talk about it i leave the room b/c they have nothing but the best things to say...im jealous because I missed out...
The reason why it sux now is b/c the music has changes...Trance vs. Electro...Back in the day pple went out to Guvy "for the right reasons"...who have the love for the music and not overdosing on every drug...now we call those skasians..
I absolutely hate the Guvernment b/c of its crowd...its disgusting and dirty...You see things that pple told you about and you never believed b/c they were so stupid and nasty...W/E
I go only when they have big name djs...that's it....For example Marco V...
Sky Bar was my fav...Gallery and Orange Room are just gross...amazing music but too hot...
The only reason to like the Guvernment: THE GIFT!!! (which attracts that 2000-2001) crowd...:) |

I think we should all be thankful for clubs like the Guv. I mean where else can you party all night and be surrounded by people with the same love of Techno/House,etc. Also I love the Guv's main room for the laid back dress code. You can dress comfortably there and just be your self.

Great point :D
On another note, I think shirtlessness should not be allowed (for guys :D)....it's gross, I think most (if not all) will agree :D |

Used to visit the guvernement once every 3 months. Always for big events such as ultra spins, deca, freedom, and lol. But now its time to move on. Far too sketchy people for my liking.
Not everyone who I does the guv is, I met a lot of nice people and developed plenty of good friendships. But its time to move on, new direction in life and a need to focus my energies more on my family life and career.
