"No digital or video cameras allowed. Still and disposable cameras are OK."

Went to this venue once for Independance (July 4th) and bought a disposable camera to take pictures, then saw hundreds of digicams inside. Security would not let some of the digital cams inside, though.

Ben, did you see anywhere that digicams are allowed? I looked on Giant's A-Z list, but "C" only talks about cash (not coat-check or cameras, the things I'm really interested in...though don't get me wrong, I'm always interested in cash...lol)

i havent seen anything that says you cant so i am assuming its ok. im trying to find out a for sure though so ill say for sure in a few.

When they did the photo contest they insisted on people taking pictures at Giant Maximus...so I'd assume that they are ok.

it seems like they are fine with it. a friend says he doesnt know and to check the site but nothing says not to bring them so i will say its safe to assume its ok.

I just emailed them as well (I'm sure someone will get back to me within 2 hours...lol) I may not be coming by car, so wouldn't have any place to put it if they didn't let me in with it. If I get any reply, I'll post it here! :)

omg, I almost fell off my chair...this email from Giant came about an hour after my request!

Hi,

I have tickets to Maximus tomorrow night, and have a couple of questions that weren't answered on the "A-Z list" at GiantClub.com:

Are digital cameras allowed (mine is the small kind, Canon Elph)?
Will there be a coat check?

I'll post any reply that I receive on the TranceAddict forums if that's o.k., so you don't keep getting these same questions over & over.

Thanks!
Don

Yes, and Yes.

Thanks Don.

Curb Drunk Driving By Riding Metro For Free
(CBS) LOS ANGELES In an effort to curb drunk driving, MTA bus and rail passes will be free Christmas Eve and again on New Years Eve.

Under the plan, fares will be waived starting 9 p.m. Sunday and lasting until 2 a.m. Monday The free fares will also be offered 9 p.m. Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. Jan. 1, according to Metropolitan Transportation Authority board member and Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke.

"It's our hope that with the traditionally high number of traffic accidents that occur in the county on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, that MTA's free fare periods will not only save riders money, it will save rides as well," said Burke.

I was thinking about taking the train up and then the Metro. But ing Amtrak jacked up their prices, $44 round trip frome here. Anyone know what parking will cost. If it's outrageous, I may still consider it.

LA Metro is free from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., so lowest cost option would be to find street parking (read signs carefully) somewhere around Hollywood & Highland (or any other) station, then take the Red Line downtown.

I don't care so much about the free MTA offer vs. $1.25 one-way or $3 day pass, but there's no way I'm getting close to my car tonight after an open bar! Traffic should be pretty insane downtown also. I received an email from Avalon that the Red Line will take you from Maximus to their afterparty for free, but I think after 1 a.m. things go back to normal.

Maybe the TA pre-party meetup should be at the Hollywood & Highland Metro station (well, if you're coming that way anyway)...lol
