| I had the chance to hangout with Marcel before a gig back in September. We talked about his music he produces and also his DJ sets. He told me his DJ sets are geard towards a different sound than anyone else. He doesnt want to be playing all the same tracks that all the other A-List DJs play. He also mentioned he likes to come out with different things everytime he produces a new track. He likes to change things up instead of coming out with the same bassline track after track.... IMO very very underated DJ & Producer.... |

Not heard him DJ.
But Cherry Blossom and Advance are very good tracks indeed. And to my ears both sound well produced.
Monotone is a bit wank I have to admit, I have just never been able to get into tracks like that though. They annoy me. Other than that though, I think the guy is very good. |

Though Advanced has been played way too much even if there are like 10 different mixes of that track.
I always liked his style (production and DJ wise).
He never produces the same though you can always tell it's the "Woods sound".

i never said he wasnt techy just not that techy. i listen to much harder tech trance and less boring than marcel woods.
i like flora / fauna, woodshokk and his remix of mike robbins - the freak but thats about it. |

if we're being pedantic, that would be hard trance, not tech trance. Tech trance is just a buzz word now to what it was back when it was hot. Marco V was at the turn of the century the pioneer for it, going back further with lieb & others. Now Marcel is one of few to add as much tech as trance. If you listen to some of his tunes, percussion/kick wise, they resemble a lot of the earlier marco v stuff before he went fluff |

| I like almost all of his productions and sets. The only complaint I really have about him is the abundance of kazoo sampling in his remix of Whatever. Now that was a tad painful. If one were to sample out the kazoos and maybe put something else in... or hell... don't even put in anything else at all, that remix would be bearable. |

yes he can.
He disslikes Marcel Woods because he don't like the rough hard / tech sound. Why bother? i don't like psy trance, but i don't attack psy producers because it's pointless when i don't listen to that kind of music. |
