Marcel Woods (pg. 5)

Woods is an excellent DJ but his sound is like Marco V's steering away from tech/hard trance like that days of STatic State and Time is Running Out. He is sounding more and more like SVD and Marco V trying to play so many different styles. Still makes him worth going to see but perhaps not as one of the very best now like he was see Trance Energy set in 2003

Well, I've never considered Marcel Woods to be particular hard, but of course, compared to the generic melodic trance of today I guess you could....

However, since we are naming names here I'd like to point out the same guy I always do in threads like this (don't know why nobody thinks of him but me...)

Oliver Klitzing aka. KayLab, Reloop, Chromdioxide II, Fusion 808, Appendix E, Solo Plastic, Twister's Silence + many more

He's done real proper tech-trance (plus a lot of other stuff as well..)

Klitzing's style is hard to listen to. I did like "Society", though (straight off Assorted Hard Trance vol. 6!:D :D :D)

I don't know why everyone considers this guy Hard Trance. I don't think his is that trancey, or that hard. I also find it hard to enjoy Marcel Woods productions and mixes. Cherry Blossum was horrible, and his remix of Ferry Corsten's "Whatever!" was complete garbage. The only track I like by him is "Advanced".

I agree that the remix of Whatever! is bad, but he has one production that I like, it still even isnt that great, it just has a good meledoy. I can't even remeber the name of it now.. and I can't find it on my computer. It reminded me alot of red shores though and I think that was why I bought it.

any ideas on what it is?

anyways, I was just saying that I agree with you, i just like that one song. ;)

Just to stick my two cents into the Crasher debate - I think it's brilliant now. There are a few DJ's now making their debuts at Crasher and the whole Classics donkey (which was overdone to the max) is going out the window.

Definitely one of my favourite clubs in England.

Now it's just a name with lineups that are shameful compared to how they were.

Since Crasher has gone monthly (well every 5 weeks or so) there's been Armin van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Ferry Corsten, Matt Hardwick, Adam Sheridan, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Simon Patterson, Sander van Doorn, M.I.K.E, Marco V, (Marcel Woods booked but didn't turn up for whatever reason). John O'Callaghan coming up next month.

I don't know about you but shameful and any of those names do not come into the same sentence for me. So you don't like it, that's fair enough but it's a trance club and a lot of those DJ's are very highly regarded within the trance scene. Sort of fits together.

Very well said! ;) AND those names have appeared in just 3/4 events

Marcel Woods apparently said he didnt play because Crasher wanted him to play an early set, and he said forget it..
