Racism in Russia

In Eastern Europe, especially Russia, it is MUCH bigger. The skinheads are far more organised, and the movement is huge. They publish hitlists of prominent anti-racism figures and several of those end up dead. The movement is affiliated with political parties within Russia. Now skinheads are linked to other groups internationally including those in the US. Several skinhead leaders from the US have travelled to Russia to set up branches of their movement and build stronger ties.
Several stabbings of Asian and African students have occurred as well as numerous murders of people of various ethnicities from the Caucasus region. It's an infection that's spreading through Eastern Europe and nothing is being done about it. The law in Russia provides for the mandatory consideration of racially motivated killings as an aggravating factor in sentencing, however this rarely happens. The international community seems to be blind to the infection of racial hate that is turning into an epidemic. |

Yeh I heard about this, makes me think twice about going to Saint Petersburg or Moscow anytime soon. Sucks because I always wanted to visit Russia.

and with the influx of those eastern europeans into the uk, it's spreading here too. 10 years ago I played football in a team with 2 chinese guys, 1 black guy & 1 mixed race guy & we played against all sorts of religions, god knows how it'd be these days.
