Aargh, I'm thinking of getting it tonight but I have one more question. I've searched the Torq forum and I'm still unclear. With my 800 mk2s (so, external mode), if I set a cue at the first beat of a track and I'm beatmatching a track in the phones, when I push "cue" on the cdj, will Torq recognize it and return the waveform back to the cue point or do I have to do all cue points through the Torq program itself.
Thanks,
MTM
Edit: In other words, will I still retain normal cdj cue operation in the Torq software? |

Nope, you can cue on your CDJ's just as you normally do!
The only thing is that where the CDJ would normally "auto-cue" for you (finding the very start of the first beat, and cueing it), that won't work with Torq. So you'll have to find the start of the first beat yourself and cue it up, but that's no big deal :)
When you hit "cue" and go back to the beginning of the track, that will work perfectly!

| anybody who has TTs and torq have any issues regarding pitch??? ie have heard that when you make adjustments using the table's pitch slider, it takes a while for it to register back into torq. does this "lag" effect the track that is playing...meaning you'll constantly be riding the pitch, or...if it is just a latency issue having torq update the pitch on the program which doesnt effect the actual song playing? |

Maybe they have a ty computer? :conf: It's been very responsive for me. I'm kind of surprised to hear stability raised as an issue, as I've had zero problems so far, and I've been using Torq heavily since I bought it about a month ago. It's been used for....4 gigs so far, not a single problem whatsoever. Granted, I'm only a single example. I use it with the control vinyls, and I don't really around with effects much. |

Nope, there's no noticeable lag at all.
There's a "BPM" detector that takes a few seconds to update, but that's not an issue.

Even if it is an issue for anyone, it can be fixed.

Well, the order is in! A little piece of advice for those thinking about/about to order:
The cheapest I found onlinw WITH the control vinyls and cds is djdeals for 288. Plus if you sign up for google checkout (it's free) you get another 10 bucks off from any of the listed vendors (djdeals being one of them). So you can get it for 278...no tax and free shipping! |

Letting go is the hardest part. |
I'm a vinyl lover myself.
But I would gladly give it up to do LivePA/DJ sets with Ableton.
Thats the future of electronic music no matter how hard people try to fight it.
My only set back is that I don't have and can't afford a very powerful laptop + midi controllers right now. So I have to make due with CDs/Vinyl until I can afford it. |
