Im going to post something more current. But its a MUST play series.
Shenmue (DC)
Shenmue 2 (Xbox)
Shenmue is much older than most people think "Shemue" was originaly soppose to be realesed on the Sega Saturn.
Story isnt over, lots of fans are still expecting Shemue 3 to be realease but main developers said "no" long time ago.

Haha, you are such a small boy. I remember text RPGs on 286x PC. I never like that genre. Zelda, but it's not pure RPG.
About Shenmue i remember they wanted to make 7 parts and release them each early. but then Dreamcast collapsed and it holed Shenmue. I played it maybe an hour max, when i take my friend's Dreamcast on 2 days to play a little. So possibly i didn't taste it enough to say it's a great game. |

Shenmue might of be nothing special by todays standerds but back in the early shenmue days, this game was pushing the envolope big time. There was nothing compare to it at the time. I think if developers hadnt have stop developing for the game, the Shenmue Series would of have still been pushing the envelope till this day.
It is said that if you shout out "SHENMUE 3 will never come" to a crowd of gamers, you might end up in the hospital. :haha: :haha: |

| Now games became more commercial, they just spend all money on better graphic, licensies and forget about gameplay at all. That's why i like old games or Japanese games. They make games with love. Not like Americans just count balance between money they spent and money which they can earn on people who will buy ty game by mistake. They don't want to spend a lot of time and money to create masterpiece, which gamers will remember on decades. |

It's either Super Metroid or Final Fantasy VII, with honorable mention going to FF IV.
Super Metroid personifies what it is to be a truly great and engrossing platformer, and it does this without any real well defined storyline. Many games, including the illustrious Halo, have imitated this story formula, and not a one of them has done it as well as Super Metroid.
Final Fantasy VII epitomized a great RPG. Engrossing story, incredible sense of style, and the perfect sense of pacing and unveiling that is oh so critical to an RPG's success. I loved this game. |
scratch out FFIV and replace it with FFVI and you've hit the nail on the head. Castlevania:SOTN also. |
