For me it is Ultima Online. It was my first MMORPG and made a huge impact on my interests and gaming from than on out. I bought it the day it came out and was blown away. The social aspects of the game were amazing. It allowed people to socialize with other players at the same time they were progressing their character. I couldn't tell you how many hours I stood outside of Brit mage shop practicing my magery and just talking to the players. The craft system was the deepest thing I've ever seen in a game at that time. Of course the first time I venture out of the city I get pked. After that death had a real meaning, you lost your items! I remember my heart beating so fast when I saw a red character come on the screen and knowing I could either die, run, or fight. More than often I ran. The dungeons were both extremely difficult and prosperous. Being able to own your own house/tower/castle was awesome and I had a tower with a guild.

Even though the game is very dated now it got things correct that no other MMORPG has gotten correct since. It perfectly interweaved social interactions with character development and allowed the character to interact with their environment. I played UO for about 2 years and then went to a private shard where I DMed and played for about 5 years off and on. I miss that game and hope that some brave person will take the things UO got correct and make a new MMORPG.

If i'm bot mistaken, there is Ultima Online 2! I played a few weeks ago Lineage 2 untill server died.
CONNERMAN2000
Herzog Zwei - Technically, this is the first game that I ever actually got 'good' at. Probably my favorite game on the Genesis. The game requires both quick thinking and good reflexes. Check out the rom some time and you'll be happy you did. It takes some time to learn, though. And it takes much longer to master.

Final Fantasy III (US)/Final Fantasy VI (JP) - This is one of the very few RPG's ive ever beaten. I'm not a big RPG player; most bore me to death as little as an 1/8 of the way in. I'm not a patient gamer by any means, and I have a short attention span. That being said, FFIII is not only my favorite RPG ever, but is one of my favorite video games ever. The storyline is outstanding, the music is among the best I've ever heard in any video game, the characters were all actually worth giving a damn about, and I actually thought the game was just beautiful to look at (damn fine graphics considering it was circa 1994-1995)

Warcraft II - I actually like it more than Warcraft III. For one, you can train peasents and therefore mine gold much faster. In Warcraft 3, theres a limit to the number of peasents allowed in any 1 gold mine. So, in WC 2, you would get gold much faster, allowing you to get an army faster, allowing you to build more than 1 base without having to worry about running out of money or getting high as hell 'upkeep', and allowing for more strategies to be played out. In my WC 3 experiences, only a limited few strategies actually work, since if you try anything else you are bound to get your ass bitchslapped. WC 3 is not bad by any means, but WC 2 is superior only in its ingenious simplicity.

I have more but I have some finals to study for. maybe ill post more if i havent yet committed suicide.

what server/guild?

Deus Ex - Still considered by many PC gamers to be one, if not THE greatest game of all time. It was quite revolutionary which really helped it aswell, but the story was amazing. So many twists and turns, plus heaps of different choices and many consequences.

Lots of other notables like:
Red Alert
Freespace 2
Tetris ;)
Warcraft 3
GTA (all of them)
Starcraft
Counterstrike
Zelda (All of them, but especially the GBA one)
Final Fantasy (enjoyed alot of them)
Baldurs Gate
Neverwinter Nights
Planescape Torment

I could go all day :P

Now games became more commercial, they just spend all money on better graphic, licensies and forget about gameplay at all. That's why i like old games or Japanese games. They make games with love. Not like Americans just count balance between money they spent and money which they can earn on people who will buy ty game by mistake. They don't want to spend a lot of time and money to create masterpiece, which gamers will remember on decades.

Not really, most games today have great gameplay. The bad thing is that most of the games are way too easy so everyone can reach the end and watch The cool ending movie. (e.g. Kingdom Hearts II)
Of course there are a few exceptions.
DarkAngel
My fav fighting game: Super Street Fighter II TURBO (PS1, part of Street Fighter Collection)

Fav. RPG: Final Fantasy VI (part of Final Fantasy Anthology) (FFIII on SNES)

Fav FPS: DOOM³ (PC)
