We're going to pull out at some point, it's only a matter of time. As soon as we leave Iraq will be in civil war, especially because we put the minority religion in power of the government there. Wiping the whole country out would cause the entire Middle East to turn on us (and our oil supply) and that would begin World War 3. There is no way to be effectively imperial here without causing a huge economic crisis in America (and hence the rest of the world).
edit: And besides that, Bush and the republicans have indirectly caused the death of over 500,000 Iraqis (and the exodus of over 1,000,000, including most of the professionals like doctors and teachers) by ousting the old regime and putting a new one in power, aside from over 2000 of our troops (not to mention the 70,000 or so that have been injured as well). It's was a very poorly thought out plan even in the beginning, and it's causing the effective political suicide of the neocons (good riddance). |

Neat.
Indian sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik applies finishing touches to a sand sculpture entitled “Fate of Saddam” at Puri beach, Bhubaneswar, in the Inidan state of Orissa. |

It was fine 'till it went full-on political. Politics suck a goat's nut. End of story.
He shoulda been shot while he was being hung. Emphasize on the pain & suffering factor a little more. :gsmile: |

It's funny reading some of the comments by a few plebs in here, especially the one I read asking for a more cruel method of killing Saddam, then going on to ask that if Saddam can be executed, then why not the US President for ordering Hiroshima.
There are some really thick s about the place, and I'm sure there are saner people locked up. |
