Not too much compression though, otherwise you risk making it too fat, which will clog up all the headroom and you'll have to get a professional to clean it up. |

I dunno. Once you've made a mess of the mix, it's hard to fix even in the mastering stage. |

ok im pretty sure anyone decent around here will tell you theyve never used a kick with no processing to it at all.. |
