I personally don't give a about any celluar content downloadability, so no 3G in a device like this is A-OK with me. If my phone had WiFi capability I'd never buy another phone in my whole life. |

Everything has a SD slot, think about ... your not limited with mem.
An 8GB SD CARD is about 150 USD. By June 07, SD Cards will be larger. |

Uh this is going to be about the same price, that $599 USD for the 8GB is with a 2 year contract, so the price is subsidized by Cingular... Expect it to be like $900 or something CDN, if not more, I'd wager. |

That's for sure .... $899.99 w/ 3 yr contract for Roger's. That's how the first 2 Treo's were. $399.99 w/ 3 Yr contract with Cingular. |

Yes, fido and rogers both support 3G, man it is fast...it is already availible in the GTA area, all you need is a 3G supported phone and you are good to go. You may need to update your SIM card to a new one but no biggie :D |

It's not even HSDPA yet, which will in theory, double what you're seeing now.

And now ... a major concern I foreseen the iPhone will have.
Having such a huge screen and hi res might make the OS run very SLOW, regardless what CPU is powering it. Here's a little simple breakdown of what I'm talking about.
Hi Res = 320 x 320
Mid Res = 240 x 240
Low Res = 160 x 160
TREO 600 - Palm OS
Low Res Screen - Fast, but it's low res.

TREO 650 - Palm OS
Hi Res Screen - SLOW, very laggy and crashed a lot.

O2 - WM5 OS
Mid Res Screen - Slow

Sony Ericsson P990i- Symbian OS
Mid Res Screen – Smooth

HP - WM5 OS
Mid Res Screen - Slow

Nokia E61 - Symbian OS
Hi Res Screen – Smooth

Motorola Q – WM5 OS
Hi Res Screen – SLOW!

Blackberry 8707 - ???
Hi Res Screen – Smooth

Samsung i600 – WM5 OS
Hi Res Screen - SLOW!

Treo 680 – Palm OS
Hi Res Screen – Smooth

Treo 750 – WM5 OS
Mid Res Screen – Somewhat Slow

Considering everything you do with this phone is touch screen, I'd think that they already worked on it enough to make it smooth and fast, while being high res., because EVERYTHING has to be done from the screen.
Reading Endgaget, with them quoting the guy in the presentation, as well as adding their own tidbits here and there, they didn't really say that they noticed a slow screen speed, even with the screen displaying 160ppi.
We just won't know until it gets in the hands of people who can review it I guess though. |
