So then why don't you eliteist s make some suggestions for "real" minimal...instead of bitching that nobody knows what they're talking about.

Don't hate, educate.

Because I don't really care for, or listen to much, real minimal.

Just because I know what it is (and what it isn't), doesn't mean I'm some sort of expert on the subject.

Well then there's no need to come in here with that attitude. It's hardly constructive. Come on now RJT.

Plastikman is real minimal.

I don't care too much for the stuff myself. Some of it's good, though.

You asked me to educate, and all I did was mention how a vast majority of the artists in here aren't minimal. I don't understand what the issue is here?

Not only are there countless minimal threads EXACTLY like this (that would be mighty easy to find using I might add), but also, the bickering an infighting that takes place in these threads regarding "who's in, who's out," can hardly be considered productive.

Edit: From the last Tyas thread. It sort of applies here.

My point is simply that both topics have been done to death, and when people like UWM and others who have taken the time to provide constructive criticism time and time again (which he does), 90% of the time they're written off as haters. When a thread/subject deteriorates to the level that both of these issues have, no one really has anything to add anymore and the inevitable back and forth of "fanboy v. hater" continues with petty rubbish. I'm guilty of it as much as anyone, and so are the vast majority of folks on here (even those who are generally level headed contributors).

Genre names that should be avoided:

It's not next up - It's already here, and I already hate it. :(

My bad. As you know, I never usually post in MD...so I had no idea. :p

No worries Jenny - We're all just a bunch of opinionated s.

Anyone who says they aren't is a commie.

Monolake is another "real" minimal act. I like some of their stuff. Really spare and atmospheric.

And they designed what would eventually become Ableton Live, which gives them additional cool points in my book.

God, I wish.

I'd bet $10 than 90% of the self identifying "MNML" fans on TA have never heard an actual minimal record.

Yeah. Real minimal is so minimal you can't even hear it.
