Fore sure m8 - I've just found that a lot of the sounds I used to enjoy in the realms of "prog" are popping up in the newer tech-house/techno/"MNML" records :) |

To me what people are calling "minimal" now is really just the new prog house. I got Digweed's GU019 for xmas, and really it reminds me alot of the sort of stripped down prog tunes that are now popping up in the minimal categories, those tracks that just chug along with a solid kick and light percs and selective melody use. Just on 019 he's playing them at 130 instead of 126.
And when I say minimal is the new prog house I dont mean REAL minimal like Hawtin etc...I mean minimal like beatport's "minimal" section :p |

see i think Hawtin used to be minimal. he's more techy nowadays IMO.
Holden is a good example of a minimal DJ at the moment, i love his sounds. that Ame track, Rej, was probably the best minimal all year. |

I don't think either of those are real minimal. |

| Rej is far from minimal. |

| Listening to Monolake - "Gobi." Comes in at about 37 minutes. Lots of interesting ear-tickling sounds. |

Meh - I'll take whatever Holden says with a grain of salt :p
From the interviews I've read, and what I've heard from people who've spent time with him, that kid is so stuck on himself it's disgusting. |
