How do you deal with your friends that hate EDM? (pg. 2)

Lately in my office that is dominated by Hip Hop/Reggae I've been putting on Freestylers, Krafty Kuts and any EDM that has lots of hip hop and reggae in it. As much as the diss my Urrmph urrmph urrmph music I notice them all loving the beats not even realizing they are listing to "my type of music".
Yup there's a sucker born every mibute. |

It's hard have friends that have the same interests, but as long as there open minded (don't have to enjoy it) as don't make and judgments about it, then there's not problem.
I actually have very few friends that listen to EDM...pretty much, my only friends that listen to EDM were made via TA and Facebook lol |

I have totally separate groups of friends for everything. I just find it easier that way and usually with a big group in my experience there's just too much controversy anyways. |

i have some friends that i've known for many many years, a lot of them listen to rock or hiphop so they dont hang out with at clubs but i still talk to them and try to stay in touch as much as possible, music preference is not a reason to stop talking to each other.
We all usually meet up on sundays and go for a beer or any other weekday. |

Beleive it or not ... there is a whole entire world out there besides EDM. Go on a hip hop forum or a rock forum and i am certain you will see a similar thread ...

I agree where someone mentioned that true friendship shouldn't be based upon music prefrence. Yes it makes things alot more fun if you and ALL your friends share the same interest but wouldn't you get bored after a while? i know i would. I need variety and change from time to time. If i listen to Trance all day everyday i would fawking go nuts lolz. Thats where i have friends who are into hip hop or rock or whatever else. They are still my friends and i don't deal with them any differently than i do of my EDM friends.
Also majority of my EDM friends also enjoy other sorts of music like Rock so it's a balanced out deal for me. |

| Luckily my closest friends either like EDM or at least have an open mind. A couple of them I converted to Trance, which is always good. I don't really have any friends that have their heads stuck up their ass so far they actually bitch about my music. Besides, if someone doens't like DNB, I'll put on a genre of EDM that's a lot more easy-listening. But I dunno. Everyone seems to like some subgenre of EDM to some degree? I can find sets that will appeal to hip-hoppers, rockers, goths, ditzy pop girls, whatever. |

Only works for the druggy friends. Lots of EDM dissers that i've known in the past group drugs into their loathe of the music. A close minded perspective yes, but they way I see it you gotta break em down with the diversity of electronic music. If they like rock play remixes of tunes they like for example. There is a type of EDM for EVERYBODY as long as they give it a chance. |
