I'm actually glad half my friends have no interest in it. EDM isn't the be-all-end-all for me, and my OMGHOUSEMUSICISEVERYTHING friends wear thin on my patience after a while.
Really though, anyone who drones on and on about the same thing all time wears thin on my patience...it's not exclusive to taste in music.

.....and I just know that I'm going to get flamed here for being a cool guy but I can't believe how hard it was to find anything close to what Kotsy was looking for in this thread. Maybe I'm taking this all too seriously but from where I sit Kotsy asked the question. I doubt he even considered telling all of his friends to off and if he did, he wouldn't call them friends. A concept clearly lost on most wasting their time and Kotsy's posting here. Honestly, with friends like that, who needs enemies. Or maybe that's how it works in China.
Sure, people evolve through life and tastes change, so ing what. Any one of my friends is worth more to me then music and they all know it. That's coming from a guy that has Trance on 90% of my waking day. Maybe something like, "keep a sense of humor about it", or "ing compromise". A witch hunt is the most idiotic, dysfunctional, non conversational thing ever. I take it most are out of high school? If not I assume are maybe aspiring to be. Where does it stop. Everyone that i've introduced EDM to start to like it.
Put it this way, for all of you kingston folk, its gotten to the point that SMIJIES djs are playing such tracks as cicada, some eric prydz and some other housey stuff
its growing so fast amongst a huge population that has newly been exposed to it.
all my friends love EDM and they were all converted by me :) |

This is true, everyone that was skeptical of our scene now loves it after they were open enough to go to one of the events. And those that refuse to go... well, who needs them when there are so many wonderful people who are willing to go? |

i have an easy solution...dont let a certain type of music dictate your lifestyle and what kind of ppl you associate with.
if theyre good people and you care about them it shouldnt matter that you have different tastes in muisc |

Pray tell??!! Maybe the host of this thread might be able to check out your styles.
I find that "DJ Tiesto's" "Around The World" DVD release is killer for that job. Especially when you need the hard sell. Personally, I don't know if I would inflict "The Gluv" on first timers. It's a pain in the ass when you really want to check out who's spinning. What with all the posers, the 800degrees and that neat little trick how they 'POP!' the last person in the place with a shoe horn. Just to ensure that nobody can dance. |
