While I won't deny people the right to be able to have an abortion, I would much rather see them give the child up for adoption.

So that, IF they don't get adopted, they can be left bouncing from home to home their entire lives, posession of the government, feeling like they have nowhere they belong? Having no family, no "home", no one who really loves you?

Before you say you think it is better for kids to be put up for adoption, I think you should go and experience, or maybe talk to someone with experience about what it is like to be in the system.

It isn't as nice as a lot of people might like to think it is.

Exactly.

And Theresa, I remember you saying a while ago in TOTA that, you would rather adopt than have your own kids or it's better to adopt than to have your own kids, something along those lines. In order for there to be babies to adopt , someone is going to have to have a child and give it up. If they all had abortions, there wouldn't be any kids for you now would there?

I'm veerrrry very anti-abortion, though I still see and respect your POV fully and thoroughly. I just don't see how you can say that even though it's just a clump of cells, it's a nothing.

The only reason I want to adopt is because there are children that are there that need homes. Why create more children when there are thousands who have no place to call home? In my opinion, the lack of babies to be adopted would be a wonderful blessing.

For further discussion on abortion, refer to THIS THREAD

I speak my opinion quite loudly there... I don't need to repeat it in here.

P.S. It covers the whole "cell" thing too.

bringing un balanced children who aren't properly loved or taken care of i better? The prisons are full enough as they are.

This is a prime example of why I think every option (abortion, adoption, etc.) should be available to every member of society. It's obvious that there will never be one common ground met, so I think it's best that we let each individual choose what is best for themselves.

I can't speak for every other family, but I know that in my case and the cases of most of my friends, my mom would be more than willing to take care of a child that I wouldn't be able to provide for. I also have family friends and other relatives outside of my immediate family that would be willing to do the same.
