Josh (Shanny) and I were talking about this a little while ago. In 2005 they weer going really strong...some great productions as well as live sets, but this year they didn't seem to do much of anything.

Since when does releasing an album count as not much of anything?

Rather than posting this in the other thread:

Top 5 DJs/Producers that impressed you last year

Who disappointed you in 2006?

I have but only ONE answer to that.

Paul van Dyk.

Disastrous set at Spirits in January '06, and a mediocre one at Space for WMC in March '06.

His Love From Above set in July, he started it off good, but the moment he started the Guetta and electro megacrap, the set was doomed.

That is all.

Sorry I forgot to add "good" at the end of that.

John Dahlback

...what happened?
i was really hooked on his , buying everything and anticipating each new release. i had really high hopes for him n 2006.
then he released his full length at the end of 2005. it had some amazing tunes on it, like 'now its not summer' and 'circle of life', but for the most part i thought it was pretty crappy.
after that, he steadily declined in his quality of output and i dont even bother listening to his new stuff anymore.

Misstress Barbara at TIL in Feb...

what a HUGE disapointment ...i seriously wanted to shoot myself in the face.

suprised some people think Sean Tyas insn't that impressive???

As far as the pure trance sound goes I thought Lift was one of the best trance tunes I've heard in awhile.

For me I remember going to Ultra Spin 9 last Feb and hearing
Junkie XL, Mauro Picotto and Blank & Jones. That music was just so fukin bland it put me off from clubbing, in some ways, for a very long time.

Luckly JOOF fixed that up for me:D

I didn't mind that set - but November's set was a bit much (or, not enough?)

You obviously haven't heard other Tyas productions/remixes

They were one of my top producers until 2006.
That album they put out REALLY sucked. Not one track on there was good to me.
I understand trying to go in a new direction and a new sound, but this one was BAD imo

I already said it, but I totally agree...he (Armin) totally doesn't get me moving anymore. It's background music to me.

I completely disagree.
I'm literally ALWAYS in a good mood, but if i wanna be in the BEST mood, i listen to Armin:gsmile:

Sorry Vrk...this is where we disagree. Unless you put up some amazing Armin sets to change my mind ;)
