That album they put out REALLY sucked. Not one track on there was good to me.
I understand trying to go in a new direction and a new sound, but this one was BAD imo |
Tracking Treasure Down for the muthain LOSE....except for one mix hehehehe. :toothless Those guys totally blow now.

Unless you put up some amazing Armin sets to change my mind ;) |
Armin only impressed me once last year...Trance Energy 2006. Stole the show, everyone agreed he was the DJ of the night, even I underestimated him greatly. You should check that set out. I still won't pay to see him again though lol. |

Sorry Vrk...this is where we disagree. Unless you put up some amazing Armin sets to change my mind ;) |
No, that wont happen....
Simply because what u want outta trance is different than what i want, thats all.
I love the dreamy, uplifting, relaxing, beautiful sounding trance,
so Armin does it just right for me...:) |

I'm all about that kind of trance. And Armin did that for me...a few years ago. The Armin that I don't like is the direction trance is going now...too techy for me. However, this last year mix was definitely phenomenal. More close to the trance I like to hear! |

I disagree re: G&D.
While the album wasn't great, Eleven, Closer and Dangerous Power were some of my favourite tunes of the year. |

Markus Schulz - sets were ok, productions were pathetic
Mike Foyle
Sean Tyas - love some productions, hate most remixes
Gabriel and Dresden - though 'New Path' was awesome, overall album sucked
Sander Van Doorn - just plain yuck.. and grasshopper was officially my worst song EVER |

Exactly. I like my trance epic and euphoric (I'll bet Cale does too), and not techy. ASOTs last year have been on and off for me..and Sail, Control Freak, and Who Is Watching were great singles...but the rest..Love You More..Saturday Night...WTF is this mess? :p Armin live is another story...but then again, I haven't enjoyed a live trance set in the longest time...maybe that's why. |

Armin Van Buuren - His entire history of productions were ONLY mediocre at best. His LoL '05 was one of the most enjoyable sets for me throughout my clubbin years seeing him live... unfortunately the man is regressing as the years pass by
Sander Van Doorn -- I can't even begin to understand how the category Trance and his productions are even remotely related, but each to their own and if this man is the person to look out for in the future then "Trance" will never be Trance ever again.
Sean Tyas - another DJ/Producer I just can't seem to figure what all the hype is about. Seems far too mainstream for my likings.
Ferry Corsten - Only saw him live once at LoL '06 and his 6 hour set was pretty aweful - he would pound out an amazing track or two and then the flow completely died with some ridiculous electro funk track.. likewise his style has evolved and it may be what Ferry likes, but I can't call that sh!t trance anymore than I can for SVD's productions.
Paul Oakenfold - Ahhh I'm soooo incredibly disappointed that I have to put this name here but likewise what once was, will never ever be again. His legendary sets from the late 90's were unstoppable but his mixing from the get go was always rubbish - his track selection and flow were unbeatable and made up for every last little bit of the shoes in the dryer of a trainwreck he might put forth but now like most DJ's, his style has evolved and taken a drastic turn... and as most of you know its pretty shocking of how bad of a DJ/Producer he has regressed into.
Too be honest this post could be an endless thread alone. There is sooo many aweful DJs/Producers out there that do NOT deserve the recognition they are getting and vice versa for all the independant and underground DJs/Producers that you might not ever hear about for years to come... but there will always be something that I keep in mind - Its the general population that counts... and that general population looovee off the so called "cheese & commercial" sound that always has been and always will be around for decades to come. |

i think armins a dj who seems to save his worst for toronto ... besides the first time I saw him at Idream in 2003 which is still my favorite set of all time , his TO sets have not been very good but each time ive seen him at other locations, hes just been brilliant. |
