I don't think people will go there.
People post these videos in here because this is the forum that things like that should be posted in. They post them in here because there are people who read cor who enjoy them.
I don't think people will go to a subforum to see these videos.

Rob, I think you just don't like threads with youtube videos.
I dunno, make a sticky for them. Make a sticky for the drunk threads. Make a sticky for the drug threads. Make a sticky for radio.
Then the youtubers can go to their thread, the drunks can go to their thread, the druggies can go to their thread. Those who want to listen to TAs stream, go to the radio thread.
Otherwise, it seems a bit discriminatory, doesn't it?
I guess I just fail to see the logic in this. Just cuz some of us don't like something doesn't mean it needs to be disposed of.
And yes, I don't like youtube links and rarely go in those threads so I know what you mean... |

I don't see that as a bad thing, maybe then the fad would die out. As long as it gets the majority of them out of the c0r mainpage. |

Like how many are on the c0r mainpage now?
Why can't you (those of us who are annoyed by them) just not click on those threads? It's like me, I don't click on the drug threads unless I have a drug related question, I don't click on youtube threads unless I'm just soooooooo bored, I don't go into the pic thread unless someone directs me...
If no one really likes those threads, they will fall off the main page quickly. It seems there aren't many and they don't fall off quickly so I think some TAs who frequent the COR enjoy them...? |

Heh, the way I have my browser configured does not allow embedded video anyway, so in the rare case that I click on one of these threads, I'm often greeted with a completely empty original post.

i counted 5 that were active in the last 24 hours, and some days there are more.
i hate viewing a thread that's only a video/picture/link/etc... a LOT of that stuff could be generalized into a Humour forum and COR would be full of threads that are actual discussions instead of a funny video or link. i mean COR is even labeled as "General discussion area... talk about what's on your mind" and i think that's what people miss about the old days of COR. there was more substance and not just 10 threads with links to wacky news stories or embedded videos.
videos and such have become annoying like chain/joke e-mails... and i'm sure i'm not the only person who feels this way. |
