I am the farthest thing from passive aggressive. I am very confrontational and assertive. Bas has seen that side of me. lol If something isn’t right, I bring it up almost immediately and like to get to the bottom of it as soon as possible and move on. I have absolutely no problem speaking my mind or putting someone on the spot if they have pissed me off. I honestly wish everyone was like that, but I understand that’s not how everyone works.
As far as my FB goes…the reason why he is struggling with this is because in his past, he has displayed very aggressive and destructive behavior. He grew up in the ghetto…and I mean THE GHETTO and all of his childhood friends are either dead or in jail. He joined the marines and went to college and is now a very successful graphic designer and pretty much has his together. He never went to counseling, but he struggles a lot with his temper and is constantly trying to become a calmer individual. He confessed all of this to me one night when we were talking. He was just telling me how he used to be, and how he would flip out on people and get in fights all the time. Well, I guess he has been working on it so much that he is like the opposite now. Now, when something like this happens, he’s scared to react because he’s scared he’s gonna get all ghetto on them.
I am the one who told him to just calm down, and to think about what he wants to say to Oscar, and I told him I would read the email if he wanted me to and help him with it, so he was like, “ok”. The email was very mature and I thought it was perfect.
He gets nervous confronting people now because if they act like s to him, he’ll flip out right back and it could get ugly.
I didn’t feel like getting into all of this since my posts are long enough, but hopefully that clears some stuff up. :) |

i suppose, but i'm just trying to say that i'm very comfortable bringing like 98% of any uncomfortable topics up to people. i'm sure there have been times when i was scared to confront someone...usually it's like my boss or something, but for the most part, i'm pretty confrontational, and believe it or not, i'm actually pretty good at confronting people.
i became the master of this with my ex who hated communicating, so i always had to get all creative and be very calm about things i needed to talk to him about because i didn't want to scare him off...i had to get him to talk, and that's really ign hard when you're dealing with someone who HATES talking things out. you have to be really persistant, but in a non-aggressive way. it's tough lol |
