that, incidently is why they closed the Koolhaus that night...to get tweety bird down. |
Your stories are ign hilarious! Keep 'em coming!
Why the would some kid crawl up into the rafters? Sketchbag. |

probably the craziest I ever saw and heard was Freedom back in 2003 I believe when Mauro Picotto spun probably his finest set I have ever heard. I pounded it down for four hours straight to Picotto then left some friend to oliver closing and went to see Deep Dish close the Guvy, pretty sure it was them, my mind is getting old I apologize. I partied hard like no ones business until close at like 9 am.
We came out from a great night all sweaty and sketchy to find the Kool Haus's coat check outside and three of our friends who had been stuck in the Kool haus and had been waiting outside for us for almost three hours!! Apparently just after we left Kool Haus some idiot got way too high and was chased into the back area where he locked himself it Charles's office. before they could get in he was into the rafters and crawling through the rafters in the roof or KoolHaus. He crawled out and was hanging onto chains up in the roof of Kool haus while the party was going on!
Well they decided to shut everything down, stop marks set and kick everyone out and cut off the path to get into Guvy. So while we were havin the times of our lives in Guvy all this was going on and we had no idea! We thought they had left earlier. So we leave, go home have our sketchy morning and do our thing later to find out a few days later this guy who went nuts came with a friend of ours that we were there with.......good times, good times. I will always remember all the sketchy faces comin out of Guvy main room to that. Cops and firetrucks everywhere. Must have thought they were all busted. |

Probably because the track selection was gooooood but mixing was TOTAL . (ask Nat).
As for the rafter's guy, how did you not know about that? I did the same thing Peter and Liam did and had to walk outside into the blinding sunlight, ty!:nervous: |

I would disagree, the track selection AND the mixing was . I think we actually left early b/c we hated the musi - that could have been why we missed the rafter's guy. |

I agree with you. I thought Picotto was garbage that night and at that time Techno was my thing. |

ohhh!! i forgot to mention, marco carola, picotto and i think liebing it was, 2004 if not mistaken
that night was absolute insanity, at the end it was picotto and carola playing b2b, picotto would throw an ok track and carola would put on a bomb and the whole place would go nuts. I think this was one of the top 3 nights for me
edit: are we talking about the same set here? that was in guv main room |

Ok...
so im not sure how many of you know Nick & Danielle Mujica...
they are pretty much Guv staples.
They have been there since day one, and to my knowledge have rarely missed a saturday (although i think Nick is now doing a work contract in Bermuda)..so im sure hes missed a few.
Regardless, they are Guv sweethearts, known by all staff, management, DJ's etc...
i would be remiss, if i didn't tell you about the day Nick proposed.
Guvernment main room.
Mark Oliver is slicking the crowd, peak time sh*t!
Full Guv throttle...lights, action, cameras...and of course lazer beams refracting of your sketch glasses, and pretty much every other thing in the room as well...
i would say...20% of the people there that night, knew of this plan..including myself///somewhere between monster bombs (courtesy of mark) the time had come...
so we get Danielle up on the stage, where their crew normally resides anyway...and we keep her somewhat pre-occupied...
Other partiers had slowly filtered around the room, with very large signs split between about two people each....
Nick gave the cue, Mark turned down the music (IN THE GUV!!!)
Danielle looked perplexed...
then the signs came up..one at a time in the middle of the dancefloor...
WILL YOU MARRY ME.
Loads of fanfare, a teary-eyed yes, and Oliver drops the climax...
Everyone goes nuts...fairly epic if i do say so myself...
GEESH///you guys should have seen the reception to this wedding...
half the room family, half the room partiers that went mental anytime so much of an inkling of a beat was played. I think we even danced to venga boys that night...wedding dj's, what can you do. |
