I don't know what my top 3 are exactly. But my top 1, 100% hands down, March 13th, 2004 - Ferry Corsten
So many great things happened that made that night special - a lot of personal reasons that I'm not going to post on here. But what made that night so awesome was that Ferry was only scheduled to spin for 4 hours, and when Mark Oliver went to come on the decks Ferry just shook his head and was like "nu uh...I'm not finished!" We had no idea how long he was going to over his allotted set time...so the longer he played the better it got. He ended up staying on for an extra 4 hours and closing the place down. I don't think I'd ever danced so hard in my entire life.
I have an AMAZING picture from that night that I used as my wallpaper for a long time. It's on another computer though, I'll have to post it later. |

- Wasn't this a Wednesday? lol Probably still the best trance set I've ever heard in my life. Pro-ball from start to finish, PVD hammered that phazon so ing hard. lol "Into the night" always stays fresh in mind. Just a night of total musical journey chaos, he turned on the magic like 15 times that night. hah I remember just being in total awe. Oh yeah my friends from Ottawa coming down for this also made for good times. ;)

i was there that wednesday night, my first pvd show ever. b/c it was on a wed night, there was plenty of room to dance on the floor, not like those sardine packed LoL nights. awesome, pvd in his prime. i think if i remember correctly he spun NuNRG-Dreamland & ForAnAngel as the encore songs?

the only thing i remember from that night is how RAMMED it was! some guy had one of those spinning light things that you can change the writing on, and changed it to say "Fire Code Violation!". i thought that was pretty fitting of the evening. but it was a good night once you got over the crowd. |

I'm skeptical about "For An Angel", and even if he did it play it that wouldn't make it any more "magical" for me. Doesn't he play it in every set even today? lol lame.
If my memory serves me correct tho, the place emptied out FAST after he was done, and I THINK Mark Oliver played "Chem Bros - It Began in Afrika". The first time I heard that tune. I could be TOTALLY mixing up the nights tho, Ray can clear this up for me... hah

Wow that was a crazy night. I have never been so rammed in there, you could dance at all and it took you 45 mins to get from the patio to the bathroom in main room. |

mark defo played "it began in afrika" at the end of the night.
that was seriously a ing awesome night. i remember completely freaking the out cos mark played "xpander" right before pvd came on. and that was back when that was my fave track. le bless.
i also remember telling a friend that pvd was wearing "lederhosen" LOL. cos he was totally wearing leather pants. good grief.
i also remember pvd started one of his records at the wrong speed...could have been "for an angel". i also remember telling him "ich liebe dich" at the end of his set. good grief AGAIN.
that danny howells night was pretty awesome as well. seeing that he had saved my valentine from aria the night before was too cute! although i do remember it being stupid rammed, as usual. that may be the last time i had a good night in the guvernment main room.
can't think of any others, to be honest.
edit: i forgot. the smirnoff experience party in 2001 was total good times. i think it was on a thursday? nick warren played the WOW remix of james holden - "horizons" and i was tres happy. and john kelly (?) played some remix of the cult - "she sells sanctuary "and told my friend that guv was like a high school gymnasium or something. |

probably the craziest I ever saw and heard was Freedom back in 2003 I believe when Mauro Picotto spun probably his finest set I have ever heard. I pounded it down for four hours straight to Picotto then left some friend to oliver closing and went to see Deep Dish close the Guvy, pretty sure it was them, my mind is getting old I apologize. I partied hard like no ones business until close at like 9 am.
We came out from a great night all sweaty and sketchy to find the Kool Haus's coat check outside and three of our friends who had been stuck in the Kool haus and had been waiting outside for us for almost three hours!! Apparently just after we left Kool Haus some idiot got way too high and was chased into the back area where he locked himself it Charles's office. before they could get in he was into the rafters and crawling through the rafters in the roof or KoolHaus. He crawled out and was hanging onto chains up in the roof of Kool haus while the party was going on!
Well they decided to shut everything down, stop marks set and kick everyone out and cut off the path to get into Guvy. So while we were havin the times of our lives in Guvy all this was going on and we had no idea! We thought they had left earlier. So we leave, go home have our sketchy morning and do our thing later to find out a few days later this guy who went nuts came with a friend of ours that we were there with.......good times, good times. I will always remember all the sketchy faces comin out of Guvy main room to that. Cops and firetrucks everywhere. Must have thought they were all busted. |

mmmmmm difficult
I guess one had to be one of the big Smirnoff events , can't remeber who was playing --2 wasted
Second , the night A famous DJ and I (I will not mention his name ) decided it would be fun to powder our noses in every bathroom in the building (safely to say I no longer indulge)
And the 3rd would ahve to be my Birthday back in 2003 (I think LOL)
up in Skybar with Manzone and Strong and trying to convince a bouncer I was not smoking a J even though I clearly was
Sounds Like I had some serious over indulgence issues back then:eek: |
