That is a shady business tactic. Comparing the value of these two events, and which one was more "worth the money" has nothing to do with the issue at hand. The issue at hand is that they unexpectedly jacked up the price, which is shady. |
pretty well put Graham
had no idea it was $25 after 11  |

| The club has the right to change the cover if they want.....I am not saying its right that it was increased but we have all seen other clubs do things a lot worse then raise the price an extra $5 |

Thats true..they can do whatever they feel like. But I can still be frustrated over it! I'm far from poor..just the principle of raising it 25%! But still...
Definitely worth the $25...
($5 if you count the $20) |

Sorry, but the club does not have any right to do that. As far as I know, jacking up the price at the last second, even though you advertised a different price is illegal.
Just because other clubs have done it in the past doesn't mean The Guvernment has the right to do it. The Guvernment is one of the most, if not the most high profile club in Toronto. I wouldn't expect such petty business tactics such as this that other shady clubs take part in from a club like The Guvernment. |

give me a break, how is paying 5 bucks more is a jacked up price.. It is shady but i dont think people should be having a problem paying 5bucks more for an event like this. If you have a problem then don't go in, right? no one is forcing you to.I understand people budget stuff out etc but we don't know what caused the "jacked up price". Could be anything like a wrong calculation of a budget etc, there was some very expensive djs in that line up, like Sander K and a few others.. where else in the world you can see so many good djs for 25 bucks? my point is he's acting like he got ripped off or something.

| i was kinda upset by that as well. we were getting checked by security just as they changed the price to $25 from $20, but i'm pretty used to having to pay more than usual when going to guv/KH. i think i only paid the advertised price a couple of times. |

There is nothing illegal about jacking up the price beyond as advertised.
But it is very unethical practice.
As long as the demand is there, the Guv can jack it up as much as they want and get away with it.
Yes, it's only 5 bucks but I'd be more hesitant to give my money to a business that does false advertising |

$5 bucks more isn't really that much of a jacked up price...eventhough it is an increase of 25%.
I just don't understand why they didn't just advertise the price of $25 instead of $20?
Did they think if they advertised $25 they wouldn't have received the same turnout? Maybe all of the Orange Room crew wouldn't have come or something...but still.

It's not illegal as in they are not forcing you to pay $25...
I'm sure you could try and hassle them into paying $20 with the flyer...but they'd probably just kick you out as they have the right to kick out whoever they want. |

come on now, it is extremely rare that guv does something like this, probably the first time at an Ulra Spin. There are way more places that do this and get away with it on a regular basis. |
