Who did you see for your first party? (pg. 26)

Pete Tong @ 5ive.
It was a Goldclub series party. Those parties were always off the hook. From then on it was Labor or Love and many others to come. I just missed the Delta Heavy Tour that was in April just weeks before that.
And I've tried to collect thoughts on that night ever since. The closest to S+D coming back was last year for their Spring Tour, however Sasha couldn't make it. Although I did see them in Montreal last year and that was incredible. Probably the most memorable party of my career. |

No... actually i think she died.
As soon as word got out that a speaker had fallen on a bunch of ppl, they shut down the party and kicked everyone out. We found out later that one girl died from it. |

Not sure really.
First few times I went to clubs, it was just a "night out with the friends", but really wasn't that into the music. I didn't not like it, but was indifferent towards it.
Went to IT once or twice, Guverment a few times, System Soundbar once, and all this was in the "no idea who's playing / whats playing / just going to dance for a bit" kind of mindset.
First time went out specifically to see a DJ/Producer that I liked once I was actually into the music was Infected Mushroom at Guv. However, it was way too packed, even standing in the hallway leading into the main room I was squished shoulder to shoulder and figured "This sucks, I'm outta here" and wrote off the Guverment for a /long/ time after that.
First "rave-ish" party that I went to was a Dark Rave, all just locals, and its when Dark Rave still had a heavy psy-focus, I remember rocking out to Bathory for a good chunk of the night, I then ended up at CoZo for my first time ever.
That following spring/summer was allot of parties at Cherry Beach on Saturday nights, Dark Raves and Just1Fixxx, BLA parties, etc. |

First all night EDM extravaganza I went to was Markus Schulz and Menno De Jong at Guv, last year.

| I saw Murat spin a sick set at a boozecan in Kensington in '94, attended a few smaller raves out of city in the years that followed, but what really hooked me was Strobe, which was held at the Masonic Temple, Feb. 1998. Adam Marshall, Algorithim, Vortex, Lotus for the locals, Neil Landstrumm live, Marco Carola and Traxx provided the international flava. Epic evening of mindfuk Techno. |
