no you idiot it's iccp. and yes, there's lots of scientists on there too, some of whom have complained about 'being silenced' so to speak.

most of the research was done by say 'group a"
and all the other people would just sign it and say "Yes. i agree"

* Over 620 expert reviewers
* a large number of government reviewers

I read a New Yorker article 3 months back that detailed how our oceans will most likely be devoid of coral reefs entirely by 2075, because the ocean is trying to absorb too much of the excess CO2 in the atmosphere, changing its pH.
You know who else wants to convince me that CO2 isn't bad? The Chevron Corporation and their wonderfull radio and TV ads. |

co2 takes up 0.05% of earths atmosphere. its virtually insignificant when it comes to pollution in regards to greenhouse gases.
and how could we forget our little friends called plants?
they need co2.
we ned oxygen from trees, that need CO2,
thus proving that co2 is good. |

you can't have an intelligent conversation with ppl like this. Once they've been indoctrinated by the Rush Limbaughs of the world its impossible to talk facts.
I can understand big business, oil companies, and their government lobbied officials. It's in their interest to try to convince the public that climate change isn't happening or that it's not caused by burning fossil fuels which they sell. But for the life of me I just don't get the morons who buy the bull crap that these folks are selling.
Even if climate change wasn't caused by fossil fuels we do know that they contribute to a whole host of health related problems. When are these morons going to wake up and understand environmental laws are in their own interest. They're not some imaginary boogie man that liberal hippies dreamed up. |

The earths temperature goes up BEFORE CO2 levels go up.
by about 800 years.
this is fact.
(it has to do with relation to the ocean and how much co2 it gives off. since they're so big it takes time for it to change) |

this is my main argument about the sun vs everyone else like clovis.
i believe it has to do with the sun. only the sun. not cars and factories.
clovis, and the rest of you believe that its CO2. big mean CO2.
this is a graph in relation to temp vs co2 levels, and Solar radiation and sun spots in relation to earths temp
all of them are going up. but CO2 is a REACTION of the earths temp going up, not the other way around. |

there was a scientific study done on the interstate patterns in the midwest because someone thought that excessive traffic patterns on them caused shear, thus causing an increase in tornados. :wtf:
Me personally, global warming or "climate change" or whatever i'm sure is happening. i honestly don't really care that much to really do my own personal research into the topic.
what pisses me off , however, is when GW gets blamed for EVERYTHING that happens. "omg global warming caused katrina" "omg global warming caused the tornados in alabama" "omg global warming did this" ... etc...
regardless if we're causing it or not, climate change takes YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS for to happen.
people always associated global warming w/ "The Day After Tomorrow" type . like we're going to wake up tomorrow and all of a sudden it's going to be 10 degrees warmer, we're going to be in knee deep water, and overnight [yes, overnight] the polar ice caps will melt and instantaneously throw off the entire global circulation model and there's going to be like 10 hurricanes in the gulf of mexico.

Dude, I dont know what kindergartener you had draw that for you, but seriously man, cite me a paper and Ill pay attention. The fact is that theres an inherent, well-known, physical relationship between longwave/IR radiation and greenhouse gases such as CO2, Methane, and NO2. Its fairly well known in the educated community.
The problem with what youre trying to suggest is that the data doesnt even exist. We have never had, nor has anyone else had, any kind of sensor in space looking directly at the sun and monitoring variation in solar flux. In fact, even if we did, it would have only been since the 1970s because satellites didnt even EXIST before then.
What I suggest to you is actually reading the IPCC SPM, instead of listening to all the bull you hear on TV, eh?
One more thing. If the IPCC was all made up of politicians, dont you think that these politicians would be doing something about it? I mean, since THEYRE the one's writing it, right? Did you know that the US currently has no carbon policy? The the Clean Air Act does not even talk about greenhouse gas? That any company can emit however much they want within our borders? For a group of people that are so convinced about global warming, I would have expected some changes since the LAST IPCC assessment report 7 years ago. |
