Then, like I said, there are far more informative sources for such information than someone here. Whether you agree with them or not, the stated reasons are out there. All it takes is a bit of research to find them. Chances are that the sources that you feel are more biased in that direction are the ones which will actually state the reasons--as opposing sides have a nasty habit of claiming that the other is completely unjustified in anything, so I'd go shopping through more conservative outlets to at least find out what they were. Then, of course, it's open season to criticism of the stated reasoning, and the flood gates open to whatever source you choose. I wouldn't put it on the NY Times to actually lay out such a list, though. |

Was completely unnecessary/unwarranted. My suggestion: Why don't you educate yourself on the subject before you just hop on the bandwagon and dish out insults to everyone who has an opinion that differs from the ones you've inherited from media/propoganda/other people that really have no clue what they're talking about. To digress somewhat, there's an interesting argument for how the very speech you quote JFK on has led to the downfall of the American body politick, and not its creation. In his inaugural address, JFK claims that God is on America's side. This is the EXACT same rhetoric mastered by Reagan and later used by Bush to legitimate Iraq. Lincoln famously quipped, "it is not relevant whether God is on our side. Instead, I hope that we are on his."
Important switch in political discourse.

I should apoligise for defending a person? I am defending myself, which is natural. Your response makes no sense whatsoever, and I never said anything about JFK. All I said was something in response to his quote.
BTW, I have gotten invloved and I vote. I cannot turn off the TV, b/c I dont have one. |
