I dunno yet. Typically easier for me to go out on Friday nights...all really depends on work and making sure it's OK with Michelle :p. Won't know until that week.

Yep. Pretty soon we'll see more of Taj tapping the CUE and PLAY buttons on the CDJs to keep up with the new tunes.:tongue2 I'm sure it's harder and harder to get the new tracks on wax.
I know , I know Taj........ you're pretty DAMN PROUD of your 12 inches :whip: |
If we all got our music on cd downloads we'd be all playing the same music. |

Not really Skwallie. I play exclusively on CD's and there's by far a large capacity of new music that people still have yet to find until they look closely and spend more time finding those gems that fit thier own style. I do this every week and I know there are tunes that people keep asking about that I've played including CL.
The abundance of new producers is very high due to technology that allows these new artist to put out thier music digitally.
It allows new music to be spread globally at a much faster rate and allows big name djs to find new tunes in thier hotel room 30 minutes before playing their gigs that evening. Even big name djs dont have all the new tunes as one may think.
So I say there's really no possible way for everyone to be playing the same music unless you're only buying from the same labels as everyone else in your hometown.. My advice, seek out some other amazing unheard tracks because thats what will make you different from everyone else.
Good example Taj who has proven this time and time again and he does it successfully with Vinyl. Wow!! :) |

I kinda trip off this too. He usually gets stuff in around the same time I get my promos in, and its on Vinyl!!!!
Music in general has taken a turn expecially when it comes to digital. One reason I like Digital is I can record anything I want to a 320 file or higher, crystal clean sound..
When beatport came around, I was on there primarily gathering music and stuff. Most of the time when I got Vinyl, I would rip it 320 to a mp3 and use it Digitally. Even now they dont really have everything I want, and I have to get most of my stuff from the Dj's or Producers themself.
I just cant wait to play these for you all this weekend. :D |

I said that more in jokeful way. I'm not bashing on digital downloads because I play them also.
I think it'd be nice to hear tracks we haven't heard in awhile. Blurr has demonstrated this the last time he played at your party when he played Sky Falls Down by Oceanlab. |

Vinyl has more warmth to it. The low end that comes from Vinyl is more deep. CDs/Laptops are to digital sounding. TO CRISP WITH LITTLE SUBSTANCE!!!
& most of all i personally like to feel what im playing with my fingers not my mind or eyes!:whip: Of course another key is you the people on the dancefloor are able to visually see what im playing rather guessing what next on the "decks"! |

| Taj i would have to agree....that is from a fans point of view. I like being able to see what you are going to play next. Thats one of my favorite parts about your sets....More interaction with the crowd.:D |

| I wish I went w/ turntables as I enjoy playing with my friends 1210s more than my cdj 200s. Shopping for vinyls is a lot more fun than browsing and clicking your mouse, I do that enough at work  |

Ya. I got tired of shopping for Vinyl though Rizen. Actually, i still have 2-3 crates in my garage. Most of them signed Vinyl like Lexx does when he comes out.
Rookie move a long time ago in a galaxy far far away... I left it out out in my truck one time, on a hot summer day.
Not good....
I can remember back in the day when Ravers used to flock TEN15, we all used to gather watching Djs on the decks. right in the front. or off to the left or right.
My favorite locals were always TAJ, GIANNI, Raphael, Joe & Johnathan. Other Djs I watched never really had enthusiasm as the 1015 Djs did. Then I started watching them mix, and how to control the mixer, that bigg ass RANE Rotary they had.
Again my favorite time has to be, when Armin came through for his 76 Tour. I thought I was in his way most of the night, but he appericated me taking photos and asked me to send em to him. he told me "its no bother, go ahead" and let me snap away.. I think thats really when I got to know him, probably the most friendliest Dj I ever met, appeciating me asking about mixing, music and Trance.
The worst time had to be when Paul Oakenfold came out (when he was good). The line was all the way down on both sides of the club, almost to the chevron, and the VIP line was just about as long. It took an hour and ahalf to get in the club. I smoked half my pack waiting in line...
It got so packed in the mainroom, you could not walk. Basically you felt like a sardine, and since ventilation wasnt that great, the sweat welled up on the ceiling and well.. rolleyes:
But thats one of the reasons I have always come back to 1015. Interaction with the Djs. You dont get that from other clubs, and always the Djs love you guys jumping up and down to their tracks. Steve Helstrip (Thrillseekers) absolutely loves coming out.
Funny now when I think of it, Julias Papp used to spin out here way back when at a club called Oasis...
But the way I see it, im not getting old. Im getting better.:p |
