smoking, nothing but pvd ALWAYS sucks for atleast 30 mins. in nov 2005 (one of my top3 pvd sets ever) he still played crap for the last 30 mins. wundervoll. i mean come the on! that is the GAYEST edm song ever.

listen, pvd sucks now. im not saying he doesnt have the potential to blow the roof off of space or some other club, but its just not the same. we're LUCKY if he blows the roof off of space. thats what im saying. you shouldnt have to be lucky to get a good set, you should get a good set EVERY SINGLE TIME. i understand he plays more than svd, has been around longer, blah blah blah, but there was a time when pvd WOULD blow the roof off of every club he played.
for example... when i saw pvd in orlando at the house of blues in 2003, he ing tore it up. if you were to bring him back there now he would suck ass. it would be too short of a set, the crowd would be whack, the tickets would be way too expensive for what you're getting, etc etc. pvd just cant bring it every night anymore. you have to be lucky. but svd can. therefore, svd > pvd.
oh and whats the point of a crazy setup if you still suck with it? lemme go max out all my credit cards, empty my bank account, sell all my , and buy that crazy setup. does that make me the #1 dj in the world? hell no, you still have to put on a good show with it. which is something pvd doesnt do enough of anymore. hes too inconsistant. and sander van doorn is the definition of consistant! so once again, svd > pvd.
if you want me to keep going? i can, i can go all day long baby. look at my sig for crying out loud. you see the "paul van dyk" thats there. ive seen him, not as many times as brent, but close to it, i think im like 5 shows short or something... anyway, thats not the point. the point is, for me and brent and lis (true mothering pvd fans) to be saying these things, its cuz its true. you sir, are just a little bangwagon jumper and you dont even realize that the bangwagon has broken down. |

not really...i haven't heard a dj yet who's mixing is so tight he can sidechain and make the frequencies bounce and have his own unique sound, kinda like the edgar v back in the day, |

I agree about the 04 WMC set...that was the WTF for the nite, besides that he played Holding Onto Nothing for the first time & I was like whooooooooooa the rest of the set was tiiight but if you wanted to hear bad 06' was BAD!
2 hours to build into a set is beyond ridiculous...I found myself just standing around with my arms crossed...
If you ever wanted to see a bad vibe in terms of dancing that nite was it...you know people usually chant PvD...nothing at all that nite & when he got off no screaming.

okay okay, the mixing can be awesome, but whats the point of good mixing if the tracks he's playing suck.
and i miss the old pvd who used to mix vinyl and even cd, but that whole computer is bull. I WANT ONE NIGHT, PVD FOR 6 HOURS, MIXING ONLY OLD SCHOOL VINYL, AND ONLY OLD TRACKS, 2003 AND BEFORE!
but itll never happen. :( this is why ive given up on him. |
