its not a lame attack because svd reminds me and many others of how good pvd used to be. i think thats where the whole argument and comparison came from.
but sometimes when you cant make it out, its because there are reasons. i wanted to see him last year, even bought tickets for the svd/b&j show at metropolis, but well, happens, and we couldnt go. kinda glad about it though cuz apparently he didnt even play or some .
but after seeing him on wed of wmc, we had to see him again. our original plan wasnt even to see him at karu, but he was so damn good at the fifth we just had to. no dj can get me that excited, not even pvd. there is your comparison and the reason behind this mess of a thread. |

the hating is a bit absurd though.
you guys don't get as much trance as u used to and should be happy that you even get PvD as much as you do.
SvD is a once in a while type event.
I hope that if he comes back to NY [he was here in Dec] u guys come here instead of the west coast cuz they close at 2.

I don't insist on hating on PvD.
He isn't the same anymore or even consistent, that was my argument & I said I'd even see him again.
Various people have come on here & said what they needed to about PvD, including Brent who has been known as a huge PvD follower then Flo...both seen him waaaay more than me but speaking the truth as far as how he is not bringing it down here anymore.
SvD got me as excited as PvD once did...for that I praise him. I was about to give up on seeing DJ's entirely until seeing SvD twice this WMC because he proved that a DJ could still bring it ALL THE WAY without any fluff in between.
Lets see the next time PvD comes down here how it goes. |

He might drop some electro-y tracks at the beginning which don't even sound half-bad i.e. Armin dropping that Electro-electronic track WMC 2006
then he bangs that good ol' TECH TRANCE.
& @ Karu he played NO electro or warm up anything
all banging tech from beginning to end
& no Time of Our Lives or Crush or Nothing But You or blah blah blah
epic trance blah.
& if SvD plays again in NY, I'm there!
-edit- my biggest regret was not seeing PvD on the patio...I still want to cry for that...that def. would have been easily a great nite. So I give that nite credit w/out not even being there & for those that went, I'm envious. :p |

| Ok here are my 2 cents. I know ive hated on PVD but i hate on the way he plays here . Truth of the matter is , PVd is the best Trance dj . Imo they make so much money at one point they just stop trying here and there . But the serious truth is that PVD and (yes im gonna say it ) Tiesto if they really want to , can just blow away anyone anywhere if they just play what they really wanted to . But you have to see that once they get to a certain degree of popularity they do have to play for the yuppy crowds like some of you on here that like only that soft melodic ass . Dont get me wrong i love it too but not so much that id wanna hear a whole set of crappy softy tunes.Ive heard PVD sets from other countries and have been blown away . Its just that when he comes here and all the kids here that wanna hear the wimpy stuff and go nutts like the girls when they hear it go to see him he has to play what they wanna hear to keep his fans here . I know PVD as he is the DJ along with george acosta and edgar v that made me love this music and yes . PVD can be the best and nastiest trance dj if thats what the kids wanted to hear. I know what PVD is capable of but in Miami i havent seen him do it in 3 years . Last time he was here Eric told me he was insane . So next time he is here im there . And honestly i hope he is awsome cause i know how good he can be.. But to compare Sander Van Doorn to him is ridiculous. Sander is off the chain but as far as a dj goes , he has a long way to go to ever be a PVD. Tiesto is a joke IMO now but i do know that if he also wanted to he can definately be "THE MAN" but eventually like every good dj or every good rock band , Money talks and sooner or later sell out ! I dont blame em . If you paid your dues and spent time aquiring fans and fame as a great dj etc etc.. Nothing wrong with spending the last years of your carreer doin it for the money . The problem is when some dj's sell out before their time and just fade away . But mad props to PVD. I know a few of you are shocked to see me post this but the facts are the facts . Peace, Koky |
