quite honestly...
his scope of work is truly expansive.
for me, Diggers will always be one of the best...
even though, i did, like many of you..loose him
in 2004-2005.
Quite simply, if you did a little bit of research on the founder of Bedrock records, you will be blown through the roof, at his accomplishments, not just as a DJ, but producer and music savant!
From the early Renaissance parties in England (circa 1990-92) through to his northern exposure, cream, bedrock, delta heavy,...the man is a reinventor...having to re-invent his sound & style again and again...
as a DJ whose career spans almost 25 years now (if not more) you would have to assume spinning bangin progressive or tech-house soon wears off..and the concept of DJing/Sound begins to morph into an art form very few can achieve, as only experience can give you that.
Does he loose the impact of a dancefloor when sometimes going off into these avenues, sure. Is that his intention..yes. You are going to see an artist and DJ. Those who go to see Digweed now, should expect that. Otherwise..stay home, listen to his old essential mixes.
NEVER BETTER. |

I don't really dig his radio show mixes, but I'll tell you one thing, he blew me out of the ing water at Dragonfly.
That's quite remarkable in itself, because I wasn't even standing in any water, nor was there any water nearby that was ing (to my knowledge). So if you think about it, he actually had to find some water, make it , blow me into it, blow me out of it, and then hide the water, all while spinning a killer set.
So, whether you were there or not, you can't help but give the man a heap of praise. |

By the end of the night i felt as if someone had tossed me into a washing machine and then put me into the drier on tumble... and after it was all done i came out of there a new man!!! |

I think admist all this talk about John, we can't forget about the unmatched success of his brother George, who remains one of the top Clayshooters in the World...

| I would like to know where in the British name etymology the surname Digweed came from :haha: |

I think the guy is a dying breed, and to some extent going out of style...at least here in Toronto where its all about the banging beats.
|
Banging beats here? Once in a blue moon. Digweed is here more often than DJs known for bangin beats.
And based on the size of the crowds that watch him play here set after set...I don't think he is going out of style.
I do agree with you mainly though, the guy does deserve the utmost respect. |

After the party, what do you say?
Sitting here listening to GU014 - Hong Kong, and then his show back to back. He always exhibits slow, patient madness.
Verdict: never better. |
