i dunno, seems kinda pointless to me...
but what I do look for is to see how much people have infront of me this way i can pick the line with people holding the less amount of stuff which would get me to the register faster so i can get the out of there faster! |

Why wouldn't plastic bags be easier, I mean they have handles.
We don't have paper bags here Toronto, unless you bring your own. |

i'll have you know that i do not buy ramen, and although i do have macaroni and cheese - it is coupled w/ a steak or chicken or something else.
i'm actually proud of my shopping, because i always buy enough food to last me a long time. aside from weekly milk/bread/salad i only have to go to the store like 2x a month...if that, depending on what foods i'm craving. |

i hate it when you're standing in line, and then the lightbulb goes on because the cashier goofed up....and you specifically picked that line because it looked like it would go fast. :( |

thats exactly right...too busy caught up in my own to care about anyone else LOL - time is always sensitive to a manhattanite..we live by time, things need to be quick, prompt, efficient, and effective!

Germany was amazing because of that - the stores don't have bags unless you pay for them. so everyone would bring their own....or duffel bags or some kinda carrying tote. it was amazing.
i've seen some people do that here, that have been overseas. i'm thinking about starting it up, once i save enough bags. |

when i was 16 and I worked at Sav On as a cashier, I just let them have whatever they were complaining about and everyone would be happy. |

the plastic bags are weak, and most of the baggers don't have any idea how to place the items in there so that the bag won't rip. i've had so many bags rip as i'm taking them out of my trunk. it's just a pain in the ass. and the paper bags at most grocery stores don't have handles, so they only easy way to carry them is if you put them inside a plastic bag and use the handles on that instead.
again... Trader Joe's FTW - they have paper bags with handles. |

i always pick the slowest line. besides what the hell are you supposed to do while your waiting in line for an eternity? you can only look at the tabloids so long, then its on to looking at what the person ahead of you is buying |

i prefer plastic, i can carry more, and then i use the bags for cat litter duty. |
