Perhaps if you owned serato and used it extensively with CDJs you would understand. I for one HATE burning CDs.

You know, when I brought SSL, I wanted to be a cheap solution to buying two expensive CDJs such as the 800s or 1000 MK3. and waste all the money on blank CDRs.

+1, one of the main reasons I got Torq.

i for one own serato and have been using it for over a year and a half, just so i can play with vynils
i agree, burning cds is a bitch, but its a discipline

I'd find it very hard to justify a $500 program just because I dislike burning CD's. I own SSL and it's a great program, however I'm using it with vinyl decks. Spending $500 now saves me quite a bit of money in the future. If I get CDJ's in the future, then I'm sure I'll use SSL with it, however I wouldn't ever have purchase SSL if I already had CDJ's.

Just my opinion of course.

i personally think theres no point with vinyl emulation and cdjs. is burning cds a pain? yes. does it really take that long to burn cds? not really.

as for me...i have torq, techs, and a cdj800...but i only use torq for my techs. i burn my mp3s, not only for spinning but also for when I decide i need to reformat, get a new computer, computer craps out, etc...i have them and its a quick transfer. saves me a headache later on

the main motivation i had for getting serato was to not have to burn cds... I think it was worth it. Lazy I know, but I was looking at literally days of burning (non-stop, no sleep, no food)

Agreed, and for me, I found I was having to sort of pre plan a mix according to what I've burned or will be burning, and then I have to make copies of each. Call me lazy too, but I wasn't willing to spend all that time doing that. Plus, having your entire library in various playlists, synched with ITunes in Torq, for example, lets me choose a sequence of tracks I may not of thought of before if I was pre burning tracks to regular cds.

Get another CDJ then you can talk to me.

And for the rest of you guys who think vinyl control + CDJs is stupid especially for monetary reasons. Well sometimes convenience far outranks saving a few hundred bucks.

I think what people find odd is not so much the use of Serato with CDJs but more the fact that he could have used it with his TTs and saved all that money from the CDJs. No?
