Well after 6 months of DJing properly (having vinyl+CDJs) can i just say 1 word?
FADERS
sod the EQs, its all about faders, if you cant pull off a flawless tansition without touching the EQ theres something wrong, its all in smooth use of the faders
thats my 2p anyway
what made me realise this was coming from my behringer with a bloody annoying logarithmic curve where from 0-7 nothing happens, then 7-10 its all systems go, to ableton and a midi controller with a perfectly linear curve
so yeah, faders are awesome etc |

It's nice that you've been doing this half a year, but please don't presume to tell anyone that...

...because it's just not true.
I'm glad you like your faders though. |

so you think a pro DJ would completley up on a mixer with no EQs? i cant see armin trainwrecking and making a complete hash of a set if suddenly the EQs broke...
all i am saying is that after 6 months or so, i've realised that EQs arent all they're cracked up to be, its all about the faderage
btw - i hate my faders, they're |

Just how did you infer that from my post?
:wtf:
Some of the most popular mixers in the world don't have EQ's (at least in the traditional sense). |

your post came across as very patronising and condescending, was that intended? |

I much prefer EQ mixing than fader mixing. The reason why you're all about the faders right now I can only assume is because you have a Behringer. Though the faders on that suffer from the same setback as the EQ I think, so that is a touch boggling.
That is one of the things I don't like about my DJM 500, the fact that even with all the EQs set to zero, it still plays a small, quiet portion of the track. Whereas on my DXM06, when the EQs are set to zero, the track doesn't play. |

Not at all, I just think it's a bit presumptuous of you to come on here and tell people what it's "all about." |
