lol did you not pay any attention in world history or was this not a subject that your teacher touched on. the reason we have bases there is because we wrote their constitution. in this constitution we made it illegal for them to have any sort of militarized force outside of the police force. they also banned gun powder based guns. in turn for these concessions we agreed to be their miltary protection. this has caused a lot of resentment over the years and more recently there has been a movement to change this situation. |
