even when i was listening to trance back in 99/2000, i wasn't as " YEA" about it as i am about house and nu school breaks these days. even back then, i was more into breaks.
so i guess i was never really a huge trance fan. the only trance i really enjoyed (and still do) is progressive trance.
*edit* a perfect example of the most trancey sounding stuff i love is Girl Nobody - Cages (Lemon 8 Mix). love that track. |

Trance is what got me into edm. Oldschool cosmic gate and hard trance stuff. I still listen to a bit of everything, hard dance, hardcore, techno, whatever, but trance is what got me started. |

i understand that and i'm in the same boat there, but i quickly progressed into more elaborate/complex sounding tracks. i think trance is too simple sounding for me.
the only trance song i love that is more epic is innerspace - airwave. always loved that one...old school! |

Yeah I get what you mean, don't know that track, but the simplistic sound is part of the appeal, at times. When you're at a party or whatever and not really thinking about all that and just having an awsome time, trance is good, you're just dancing and feeling good and knowing everyone around you is too.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from I guess, which is why I like the harder side of trance usually. Having that one track dropped in the middle of a set and throwing your hands up and down jumping in the air is awsome, doing it for the entire set gets old fast.
Love other genres too though, not so into house, but techno and hard dance are awsome, but (hard)trance gets a special place for being the genre that started it all. |
