I know exactly what you mean. Back when I was 15 (2 years ago) all my friends listened to rap and hip-hop and stuff like that when I was listening to trance and house and other edm and they would all tell me "that music sucks". NOW this year i've noticed that edm has been getting very popular instead of rap and hiphop now everyone in school is starting to listening to people like armin and markus schulz. I don't know if the same is happening in other cities.

The phase most of us pass through when you start listening to asot stuff before you find something better.

When did you start listening to ASOT and get into the Armin Phase ? Cause you seem to have gotten out of it already at the age of 15.

yeh, well I got into edm when I was 13 turning 14. Like lasgo (which I have to be honest I still listen to every once in a while) ivd, cascada, milk inc all that crap. and then when I was about 14 and a half I started listening to 4 strings and thats when I got into the armin phase until the beginning of this year that I left that behind and started listing to good music. now I'm 16.

...I should hope you realize that no longer enjoying a style of music is hardly tantamount to making it something which can no longer be appreciated for what it is worth.

I think your comment stems directly from a delusional branch of thinking which has you believing that you've attained a "deeper" level of musical appreciation by listening to some random racket. After all, if you can recognize the tune it MUST be cheesy.
