I think you're misunderstanding my point. I have no problem if you like Daft Punk, DESPITE the fact that I may personally feel that it's nothing I could find myself listening to. I was instead referring to the cognitive dissonance inherent in your hint that Armin is a "cheese of the past" while maintaining[?] that Daft Punk resembles some sort of quality electronic music.

I'm not a big fan of Armin myself,...nevertheless I find a handful of his productions worth commending despite the fact that I've been listening to trance for QUITE sometime. Certain tracks become classics.

I also love armin's first productions, what I was talking about was back in 05-06 or so when I went through the whole "asot omg tiesto" phase.

The mainstream is not all bad. If everything was underground, then music would be more "exclusive" than "inclusive", just being popular amongst a certain sub-culture or age, class or whatever it is. To me, music should be inclusive..it shouldn't all be made just for a certain group of people. I'm not into a lot of mainstream music myself, but I also understand that music should be shared, should be available for all people..of all ages. I bet everyone has liked some mainstream music sometime in their life.

I think you can appreciate some music rather than it being the music your passionate about or listen to often. Case in point...I appreciate a lot of old rock and roll and Motown songs, but it's not music that I really listen to on a daily basis or am passionate about.

I think the problem is that he's influenced by all the anti-cheese pretentions floating around this board, and so he finds himself wanting to condemn artists which have been the target of so much needless criticism.

I almost find it ironic how many of the members on this board are even more inclined to favor grossly commercial hiphop over recognizing a more popular trance tune as something decent.

I have it on good authority that trance will go mainstream at 12:28PM Central Daylight Time on July 30th, 2012.
