Took spanish through highschool and some of junior high and couldn't stand it. Moreover, I've almost never had to use it.
Took 2 years of japanese in college. Haven't had to use that much either, but I'm still moderately capable.
Started taking mandarin classes independently a few months back but called it quits after maybe a month and a half. I'll try again before heading to china. |

| English and Russian, but I can also speak some Spanish. I usually try to communicate in Spanish when Im away on vacation, just to make use of it. :p |

seems like the same 3 languages that are primarily offered here in the states are also the ones that are taught abroad. french, spanish, and german. at least in high school/secondary school.
