DJ Tiesto live @ Gatecrasher NEC 13-04-2002

| anyone listen to the tiesto live at gatecrasher NEC set? it was very dissapointing as is most of his recent sets (cept some of his solo dutch dimension 2002). I didnt like his mixes...too jittery at points. his track selection was kinda iffy...i want that epic trance that he is used to playing (riva - stringer, david forbes - questions must be asked, mike - sunrise at palamos, push - strange world 2000 remake...etc<---i want him to play tracks like these!) overall pretty bland...but thats just me, what do you guys think? hey dude. i think u r one of the few people who didnt like this set. everyboy else liked it but offcourse nobody has the same taste and i respect ur opinion. i liked it alot but thats just me. the mixing wasnt perfect but the tracklisting was very much to my liking.

| yea of course i didnt here him live so i really have a different opinion then those who saw him in person...the radio did an annoying job of cutting in and out of songs too so it was hard to get a taste of his mixing skills that night.. |

Ok, here come the flames.
I'm about 1/2 way through this set, and I don't really like it. I was really looking forward to hearing DJ Albert vs Precision - Say Yes (Katana Remix) but I don't like how he sped it up. I really, really like the slower version on the AVB @ ID&T 3-8-02 set.
I was looking forward to hearing 4 Strings - Into The Night (Gabriel And Dresden 6 Deep Dub), but it just sounds like noise to me.
I'll have to see how the rest of the set is tomorrow, but as a DJ I don't think Tiesto is getting better right now. I'll still download his new sets, but they just aren't what I want to hear. I'm with Wookieslut, I want more uplifting trance, not faster harder stuff.
I have all of his live stuff from 2000 to present, and have seen him live twice, so I know my Tiesto. And again, this is one man's humble opinion, I don't want to start any flame wars or debates. :) |

excellent! im glad someone agrees and i too did not like that 4 strings remix! it had such potential but was somewhat fuzzy and really never went anywhere. flames, let them come. |

When you say poor tracklisting, What tunes are you talking about ? DJ Tiesto played a excellent set, but theres always people who dont acknoledge the music, Simple - If you think Tiesto isnt pulling the strings, Go and listen to a "PVD" set, Man happens, just dont waste youre time and slate DJ`s, especially Tiesto. Dont mean this hard, but look at your thread, Whats the point in sending flames ?
I really liked the 4 strings remix, DJ tiesto was obviously playing a down tempo tune that was going no-were which you say was poor, I really liked the tune. Tracklisting is deifferant to what i expected, but when tiesto is playing ( push, riva ,MIKE, david forbes) Then every one says his set are exactly the same, now he experiments, he gets hammered. THUMBS UP TIESTO. |

One of the most uplifting sets i've EVER heard! that set was in wicked! i thought he was slackin' off a bit the past few months but he's totally regained my confidence..hopefully he'll spin one of these uplifting sets when i'm in Europe this summer.
and i'm hard to impress also..i thought Judge Jules' recent set here in Dallas sucked ass.
