Becareful when buying from ebay.
I went on there to look at headphones ot buy for someone and came accross CDJs as well. "Brand new, in the box, unopened" for 350 USD (cdj1000s mk3). And they made it seem real professional as if they were some factory outlet in Australia. I asked the sellers (2 different ones) if it was legit and sent emails to ebay..a guy from ebay responded and said they were a fraud and "sold" over 20 of them on ebay and probably even more outside ebay. |

hehehe well i'm trying to make you save your money and use it on mixer instead of wasting it on 800s :p unless you have lots of dough get the 1000s and a good mixer .. i have some friends who live and die by the cdj200s but thats only bc they are broke.. when you first start out you'll probably be picky maybe about your pitch resolution and the 200s have the same pitch res as the 1000s, i think the cdj100 is .10 , cdj200 is 0.02 , the 800 doesnt have 0.02% (later into the future into mixing etc you probably wont care) the 200's play mp3s as well (800mk2 now does) and the cdj200 would save you lots of room on a table top for a nice mixer ;) .. the platter on the cdj200 isnt attractive but thats all i see the 800s as, something that looks nice but can do alot of what the 200 does.. but if you do have money go all out dude and get the 1000s =) doesn;'t have to be mk3's.. who uses mp3s anyway ive yet to see anybody throw in a cd with 30+ tracks on it and then scroll thru to find what they are looking for...
OR.. If you have lots of money again.. just get the 1000mk3s hehehe just spend lots of cash on your mixer.. whenever i started out if i had bought the 200s instead of the 800s i would have had money for some nice monitors... |

That's crazy talk. Pitch resolution matters more as you get deeper into mixing. Beatmatching is the most basic part of DJing. Essentially, it is drudgery. Why anyone would want to spend any amount of time "riding the pitch" is beyond me when you can be addressing the more creative aspects of DJing. Think about it. |

| ever though that since you are making your own cd's to play you can ajust the bpm's with slight edits before burning them? I mean 90% of working dj's do this at some point or another. |

heyjust speaking from experience and this is something ive heard voiced by a lot of people.. beatmatching is basic but you would have better use with a 200 than a 800 because of things like that, its a waste of money to me where i could put that money to a mixer because eventually the next real upgrade from a 200 is to a 1000, one day the poster could say to himself 'oh the 200s have the same pitch resolution? it plays mp3s too? i could have saved x amount of dollars? wtfbbq? why didnt i xxx' hehe to each there own thats how it worked out for me.. can you give me any really good reasons to get 800s over 200s besides of cosmetics/aesthetics:B |
