on a serious note...

the wheel on the 1000 actually imitates a record...makes the sound, where as the one on the 200 only forwads or rewinds through a song...

i think

yea. the 200, u cant hear the scratch so you its hard to get the feel, from personal experience, whereas with the 800/1000 i find it easier, and i can do the flick

well in vinyl mode on 1000s/800s are touch sensitive so you have fingercontrol of the track/can scratch the jog dial/platter etc like a vinyl but with no motor for the platter needed;) in jog mode(its actually called cdj mode cause pioneer are s0 l33t) it tosses out the touch sensitivity and rotating the platter/jogdial will speed up a track or slow it down, the cdj200 has a tiny ghetto jog dial so vinyl mode wouldnt exactly make sense to have on it:B

Wait a second, I thought pitch control (the fader on the right side) sped up or slowed down a track. :conf:

dont want to confuse you here, if you use the jog dial its sort of like forwarding/slowing down the track but as soon as after youve made ur movement the track is playing normally.. the tempo fader is commmpleetellly different because it changes the tempo of the track..

The pitch control changes the speed yes, but permanently. If you have keylock on then the key stays the same otherwise the key changes as well as you pitch it.

The jog wheel only tempararely speeds it up. Once u push it, it will go faster but really fast it slows back down to the speed that u set with the pitch control.

Ahh, so let me get this straight, so let's say you've just put on the record into Deck B, but it's playing just ahead of where you'd like it to be, so you slow it down a bit on the jog dial until it syncs up with the record on deck A, and then let go, and the two records are synced and play at normal speed. correct? That's pretty nifty actually. But I guess the disadvantage is that it's not as easy to fast forward to another point in the track quickly.

OH i have a good analogy...HEHEHE

Think of your cruise control in the car.

If you just push the accelerator it will speed up but as soon as you let go the car will go back to its set speed.

If you use the accelerate button on the steering wheel, then you will accelerate and stay at that speed.

hahah WOOT...:gsmile:

Yes, but this is assuming that the track in DECK B has the same BPM as the track in DECK A.... if it doesn't you have to use the pitch control to make it the same...

Do you find that you get tighter transitions if you don't use the platter at all....but just use the pitch control?
