honestly, at 50, would you really appreciate the fact that you did them? it seems like half of them was done as a joke, and in 25-30 years time, will you really be happy that you such writings on your skin? |
Why in the world would you care @ 50 about your tat.
If you liked it when you got it, and have been happy with it for 25yrs+ you aren't suddenly going to regret it years later.
No matter the condition of the ink/design by then or if it's still relative to how you think/live. It's a momento that served it's purpose. Nothing is forever. |

So what happens when your best friend isn't your BEST friend anymore??
What happens when one of the Ying Yang twins rapes a little girl?
What happens when your other friend doesn't want to be friends with you anymore?
Doesn't mean it will happen...but what if it does? |
When I got married, a friend who is a tattoo artist made a family crest since we hyphenated our last names.
4 yrs later, we were divorced. It's still there, untouched on my back. Reminder, etc/cliche...
If something bad happens that ruins the tat for you and you don't want to be stuck with it, it's fairly easy to get a coverup/new tattoo overlayed ontop and you'd never know the old one was there. |

I have 1 tat.
Its a dragon. It's on my right shoulder-blade and it wraps down around my arm. Its a red dragon with wings kinda hanging on my back with it's neck kind of wraped around my arm. Its soo sick...i love it.
No regrets. |

| Do you think that people with tattoos have more successful relationships, seeing as they're the type that aren't afraid to commit? :p |

maybe 50 was a bit far fetched
but my point was why stamp your skin with some jokes, that will possibly loose any meaning after 10-20 years? |

My point still remains, if you were comfortable getting the tattoo, then you probably don't care.
Not only that but once it's healed it's such a natural part of you, you forget it's even there, it's not like it's on your mind frequently like a piercing that needs constant maintenence.
Because you are unfamiliar with tattoos, you keep bringing up what-ifs and hypothetical scenarios that frankly aren't realistic. Any remorse/second thoughts would likely occur soon after getting it likely based on the feedback others give you (if you are that type of person). You come to terms with the decision when you are in the chair getting it, if not before or shortly after.
As for when you are much older than when you got it and your life has changed, certainly your relationship to the art might change and the memories associated, but you are well past the point of no return by then and if it bothers you that much you can always alter it, like I said above.
Frankly you seem to be stretching to make a negative out of nothing. Quit acting like your parents  |
