Perks of your job
View this Thread in Original format
DJ Mikey Mike
A thread to brag about the perks of your job.

Some of mine:
  • Unrestricted internet access. (Not exactly a big deal, but a lot of people don't get this.)

  • Make a fortune on business mileage: I get 40p per mile back on Petrol when travelling outside of my city. That might not mean a lot to some of you, but basically I get well over double back for what I pay for petrol. In other words, I make a lot of money the further I have to drive.

  • Guaranteed Gold Bond place in the London Marathon.

  • 33-35 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays) - Can't speak for anyone outside the UK, but I think the average over here is about 22-25 days per year.

  • Soon to come: The company I work for is Sports related, and a few of us are working on getting a TV with Sky Sports set up in the main reception area. Cannot ing wait for this.

  • All Microsoft Certified training and exams paid for by my company. I've already taken all 5 MOS Specialist exams and am about to start training for the MDCS course (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrators.)

  • Partial funding for any IT related courses of my choice, plus half a days paid study leave per week.

:D

What are some of yours?

internet

free hockey, (and sometimes football, baseball & basketball) tickets. if i tell my boss i really want to go to a hockey game, he'll ask me which game and make a few phone calls and get me really ridiculous seats. the orthopedic surgeon whom we send ALL of our surgery clients to happens to be the Florida Panthers' surgeon, so naturally he has like the most ridiculous season tickets seats and doesn't always go to all the games. last time i was 3 rows behind all the players.

I get these too, I think it's awesome. (Not every one in the building gets this though, only the people who are high up)

- If you go back to school with anything that has to do with what the company does, they'd pay for it-full tuition

-Paid sick days

-Benifits of massages and acupuncture, free.

-Dental work is free

-Health insurance.

- They always get tickets to sport events given to them by team managers, so I usually take those. And my boss has floor seats for all basketball games, yes I go to most of 'em. She has a box too, but I don't want to watch from a box, I want to be on the flooooor.

-Free travel for business. ( I know some people who have to pay their own fare and such when on business)

-The hot office men. (ok , ok so it's not legit, but damn the marketing men are gorgeous.

I can't think of anything

Oh, and I can basically off out of there when ever during the day. If it's 1:00 and I have nothing to do, I lave and get paid until 4:30.

I have Fridays off, but get paid for 6 hours.

Maybe I've only had crappy jobs but the only upside I've ever had was getting a paycheck. Oh and one time we had leftover cake in the employee room.

*unlimited teas and coffee. we have Starbucks Cafe Verona coffee flowing like the river here. :( . i try to stay away from it, because it is addicting.
